lowlancer
To be realistic, that revised intake wouldn't make any noticeable difference would it?
Truenotch
^^ Makes them Doort more. All MX5 "tune up guides" say it makes SFA difference.
NicT
^^ Makes them Doort more. All MX5 "tune up guides" say it makes SFA difference. Makes me feel better about myself haha. I cant imagine it would be good pulling in air from beside the exhaust regardless.
Bombsquad
Ive decided to invest no more money into the motor, not a cent. I was going to build some headers for it, but how marginal the increase i got with my intake mod i cant even be bothered for such little gains. It either needs a turbo or to go in the bin. what are you doing with this motor when you pull it out?
SHGWAG
Boat Anchor? Would be interested to see how one of these with a blower on the side would go / I'm sure it's been done before.
NicT
Would be interested to see how one of these with a blower on the side would go / I'm sure it's been done before. I have a spare SC14 kicking around my garage somewhere, but i was going to put that on my R31. what are you doing with this motor when you pull it out? Could be YOURS haha. Be atleast 4 - 5 months before i pull it out tho.
R100
I fitted my old MX5 engine and gearbox into a RWD 323 wagon. Custom sump and had to swap the very rear of the gearbox with an RX7 one and it all fitted lovely. Didnt have to change the driveshaft either. Was a very neat conversion. mikuni
Even my flatmate whos a holden nut was impressed. Surely it wouldn't take much to impress a holden nut when it comes to handling? "wow, this wallows around far better than my holden whaleodoor
NicT
Surely it wouldn't take much to impress a holden nut when it comes to handling? "wow, this wallows around far better than my holden whaleodoor Agreed, but you know how these people are. Set in there ways. I was a toyota man through and through for years. Now i dont even own one. Owning this car, and going for a ride in my mates series 6 bat made me open my eyes to the world of mazdas. And the R31 just plain kicks ass for its shitbox shape, and RB30 goodness for only $800 wof and reg. Like to buy a 7m (hateful engines) cressida for that cheap in the same condition... NicT
Needs more low but looks a Billion times better then before and handles soooo sexually. Heres a before photo of monster truck goodness: After: I would cut them but there is only 10mm of shock travel as it is... Lucky it handles so good. mikuni
like you say, it needs more low but looking pretty good anyway man. also, looks like you're enjoying it. good work
lowlancer
Not really my cup of tea but appreciate the angle you're going for. Certainly needs more low aesthetically, though what this will do to handling is anyone's guess. I'd say minus 2" minimum The wheels look surprisingly good, maybe some spacers could be worthwhile? I also vote paint that chrome trim/handles Good shit though, quick pshop of required lowness. May be inaccurate
