kyteler
Cost?
SHGWAG
Around $500ish dearer from what I've seen. But its a massive pain in the arse to get a computer to run the twin turbos. Though in saying that, I've seen a S7 block with a S5 exhaust & turbo on the side of it make 235kw atw, which isn't bad for a sub $3000 rotary setup. rot808
yuh they just look hard to people who have little knowledge me thinks all those crazy vac lines, useless turbos, etc, not to mention rear mount may be a pain in the ass for some conversions. but then again why not just go 13bre jc cosmo motor. go on karmagedon, i dare you/bet you cant
karmagedon
haha, challenge not accepted. Don't really do rotors. Can appreciate them, but don't do them.
SHGWAG
Rear mount must be it. But JC Cosmo would probably be the best base to build a 13b up from. The ports are huge.
FLAWLES
some 4age 20v quads would go down a treat on one of those surely? shame i just let mine go for a stupid $
karmagedon
Had a go at making some swiss cheese today. Don't know what difference it will make, apparently it's suppose to help

karmagedon
yup. the base of it. Makes no noticible difference at all.
lowlancer
At least you're honest
karmagedon
I guess the concept behind more holes = more air stays true, however the placement of the box just fails. As you can see, the factory intake sucks air straight out of sheet metal. Also, box is pretty much ontop of exhaust manifold, "factory air heater for increased economy"?? also doesn't help that the holes I cut are pretty much blocked anyway They also suck air from around the manifold
Simon
Did that in my golf, Made it dort hard. Dont think it went better though.
FLAWLES
move some stuff around mabe? ditch the oem set up and move the rad over-flow bottle and make up a cold air intake/box on the right hand side, im sure that would be abit better, who knows tho, talk to pple who have done this heaps before, like on the maita/mx5 forums maybe? or honda-tech wonder how hard it would be to move that afm and its wires???? lowlancer
You may well have seen this example but it is worth seeing again Edit: needs more poke on the front but otherwise spot on
Brock-Lee
is the same car as the one on previous page. is nearly impossibly slammed on 13s. definatly a benchmark but a near unachievable slam for a useable car

AFM wires are no prob, mainly 4-core with a shielding earth, would be easy to extend. Actually seems like a good idea having a CAI on the right. Truenotch
Intake is the silliest thing about MX5's. Most people make a U bend adaptor that comes off the AFM and fit a pod filter behind the headlight W/airbox and ducting.
