Raizer
I'm keen on getting a bit more low down torque from a totally stock Altezza beams engine, is there any cheap ways of doing it? Would a decent (non pod lol) air filter and maybe ditching the cat help much?

Spencer
Its not really going to happen if it stays n/a great motors but in the heavy altezza a 200hp 2l n/a engine isnt really going to be amazing. Get the 2jz version or boost it
Raizer
yeah it does seem like it would be a heavy car, the bonnet is heavy enough to open! lol I'm not after amazing, I am happy with how it pulls from about 3krpm but a little bit more below that would be mint. Spencer
extractors and exhaust will give it a little, but there's not much you can do other than de-cam it and move the power down the rev range there already pretty efficient
Raizer
Cool thanks for the help, will keep an eye out for a decent non rice cannon exhaust for it. Might chuck a Simota panel filter at it too. Lol 21R seems as bad as a Pinto after driving this too!
Unclejake
^ have you cleaned the throttle body? That = cheap. EDIT: Oh, I see you only just got this vehicle. Perhaps you will get used to it an love it? Hopes so
Roman
Definitely dont change the air intake, trust me. A motor of that size in a car that heavy, just not much you can do in the way of low end power. Clean the airflow meter (carefully) and change the filters, maybe spark plugs. Wouldnt do much more than that. I found my beams motor to be quite torquey all things considered, but that was in a much lighter car I guess.

KKtrips
put in a puck clutch so you are compelled to rev to 4grand to pull away from the lights (....sideways)
