It may also gay the car up 10 fold.

If you want to run a straight six then turn towards the Nissan/t range IMO

I'll assume the /t means Toyota and not turbo? If it does mean turbo, I have to say that the Toyota would be the better bet what you can get in a Toyota 6, bang for buck, you can't go past them.

Oh yup was meant to write Toyota, how the fuck did I miss the whole word! But yeah, have to agree with bang for buck from Toyota.

I get the idea, for some reason, it is going to be an NA engine however.

the only engine at pick a part i'd considered buying was the little red fiat uno, that stayed IMMACULATE for weeks on end, untouched. anything else is at pick a part for a reason, only reason i send wrecks there is cause its a free rubbish removal from the street, an there fucked!

be going up tomorrow to grab yet another fucked l300 alternator, will have a look at price.

a manual p6 wiht superlites sold for 800 on retradme few monthws ago, though the engine would be wasted in a escort an should be put in a mgbgt.

If you knew orginal motor and gearbox you could likely work it out but given that some much has been hacked at there is no way of knowing if it is the factory diff auw.

Jack up a wheel and count the revolutions of wheel vs. driveshaft then divide by two.

That will give you a number like 3.9, 4.1, 3.5 etc.

found a parking ticket in the car and searched the rego plates (MW2346) and it states that it had a 1600 so just did the revolution thing you said UJ and it was one rotation of the wheel to 1.75 rotations of the driveshaft so the 1.75 multiplied by two gives 3.5 so could poss be one, will have to pop it out 4 a looks e and poss chuck it into the mk1 while im waighting for the crossmember to be re done etc.

Also the plates came up as being on hold so someone must have them may try tracking them down.

hey bro, lookin good. Love the engine choice. My mate who built one for a courier sed that they had enough room in the engine bay just to leave the dizzy hanging out the back of the head. But if you run into room issues you can adapt the CAS and coilpack that the 1800 mx-5's run. He lives in aus now so there is a bit of a delay in getting info. I am still waiting to see how complete that inlet manifold is and what hes doing with it.

You will be looking at a new sump(either custom or use a rwd bp sump from 1800 mx-5), and custom inlet/exhaust manifolds.

Will get back to you when I hear more.

Dave.

Fuck, what an essay.

good choice in motor mate youi will love it

ive had a few in the past and can make some good hp out of them.

if you are going to be looking for parts for it mak sure if you use any n/a stuff its from a 1800

not 1500 cos the 1800s a wee bit longer.

Fucking mean, 2l FE engine. Underrated to hell those things are, I know a guy with one rocking a TD06, Link computer and 200,000km + stock internals. They're built like reciprocating brick shithouses.

ahhh, I think thats an 1800 bp rocker cover. which will be going onto a bpt from a gtx. I could well be wrong tho, and if I am then the info I gave you isnt going to be much help....

Apparently if the cam belt breaks no damage will be done due to the way the head has been designed in the way the valves sit or somethings.

There are so many of them at pick a part i plan to just destroy them and chuck new ones in

whats the dif between TD04 , TD05 and TD06 turbos, will have to keep an eye out.

would you recomend the 1600 or 1800?

Alot of engines are as you describe, it is know by some as "valve safe". Its just a design thing and nothing more. You should'nt have the cambelt snap anyways lol.

Td04 is of a Mitsi GSR and some other vehicles.

Td05 is off the Evo and comes in differant forms. Pre evo4 is the one to gofor really. The Td05h 16g large wheel is the one and will cost ya round $400 trademe if you wait round.

Td06 is a truck turbo of Mitsi canter and the likes. Is way too big as a bolt on, would need to hybrid it with the TD05 really.

These turbos need a completly diff manifold or just flange or flange adaptor if taken off a mitsi. Im guessing the Suby version of the TD05 would have the right flange. Im thinking the mazda flange is VH and VF flange. Id stick with standard turbo at least to get going... too many mods means aftermarket computers, larger injectors, $$$$

1600 is better if you plan to boost it up.

1800 is what I would choose as its newer and a bit more power from word go. They are differant engines.

Also the dizzy sticking out the arse of the engine is no problem for you as you have no firewall.

Also Id say we mount the engine WAY back and mount it directly off the chassis rails seeing as your pedal box mounts have been chopped out already.

Edited for more info

Yeah there a non interference engine, if your belt brakes just reset the timing and throw a new belt on stz

1600 or 1800? Are you talking about a FE like Snoozins talking about out of a Telstar/626/Capella etc or a BP out of a 323/Familia/Laser

The main dif AFAIK is size, TD05 is bigger than a TD04 etc

Edit: They also came on earlier WRX and STi's. From memory the V2 STi TD05 is the one to go for.
