cletus
Does it have factory cams / valve springs?
Truenotch
Yeah, the motor is 100% factory aside from being refreshed before it went in.
Stu
Really weird one - is the face of the cam lobe true?
Truenotch
I haven't checked the cam properly but it seems fine. I'll be checking to make sure the cam is straight and true though. Current theory is Valve float causing a chatter at high RPM and it's fatigued over time.

Still using Ti valves as it was just a standard motor that we refreshed. I'll be looking into steel valves for the next build.
Roman
Hey @Celica RA45 here's a question... Since the manual engines run TI valves which are obviously lighter, does this mean they run a softer valve spring as well? Compared to auto engine with steel valves. Celica RA45
yes dave valve springs are different on redtop and black top manual or auto black top ,thats why the rev 500 higher cause of ti valves
Celica RA45
so red top, grey top and auto beams uses same springs and valves
Celica RA45
also markku we have seen the collets move down the valve with ti valves and regrab the stem in different places to hold on .the weak link is the exhaust valve ,they have a tendency to drop heads

Hyperblade
I'm looking at getting a quick release steering wheel adapter like yours, how are you finding yours? Any issues/things to watch out for? Quality holding up ok?
