I had a Herald wagon - way back when.

It was a fantastic car. It cost me $250 in about 1987 and took me surfing all over the north island only useing petrol and clutch fluid.

The wagon is intrinsicly stronger - but I still managed to bend mine like a banana jumping an unseen washout on 90 mile beach (long story and even longer walk).

The front clip is weak and not well anchored to the tub. I can't remember where they rust but I am about 6ft2in and I fitted in it fine from memory - although it was a bit cramped for sleeping in.

Nice cars - but I have fond memorys so perhaps I am short on accuracy. I sold it and bought an S Type Jag I think

From what I can remember of them, there was something strange about the rear suspension. If you corner them too hard, the rear wheel tucks under and you end up on the roof.

The Vitesse had slightly different rear suspension. Separate body/chasis too for both of them.

Don't know what you mean, this looks like perfectly normal cornering behavious to me...

Inherent problems due to the swing axle design. Under extreme loads the outside rear wheel would not just tuck under as per the photo, but actually collapse in on itself. Was the same for early Spitfires.

My uncle has one - its got GT6 running gear. Stripped it down last year and was back on the road in about 2 months. Its got the wider triumph wheels on it but they help the look a bit. - only got a few pictures of it in progress:
