BDA vs 4age

The Japanese, along with many other countries, companies and manufacturers of the time, BOUGHT THE RIGHTS AND LICENSING to the engines/bodies/hardware etc, then they adapted, modified and improved them so that they worked more efficiently and/or correctly.

The same thing went on between manufacturer's, sharing knowledge, trading knowledge, yet for reasons of retardation, every cunt jumps on the Japanese for being some sort of criminal for "copying".

Yes, the Datsun A-series was modeled off the BMC A-series, under license, then modified and improved.

I can't speak specifically for the 4AGE/Lotus deal, however I know that in the 70/80's Toyota and Lotus did work together on several projects, including the Toyota Supra and Lotus Eclat/Excel.. something like that.

If you want to go beyond bought rights and licensing, then name someone in the motor industry who is original. Every has borrowed and lended from everyone else, the Japanese are no more or less guilty of that than any other cunt.

I dunno if they do mang... I mean, mostly the arguements begin when younger cunts start bashing Fords. 'Fords = shit Bo 4AGZE 4 lyfe' sort of thing, then someone points out that 4AGE owes it's life to BDA.

then bash bash wingewingewinge

Aint nothing wrong with copying engines, I mean, why the hell wouldn't you? Clearly Ford weren't smart enough to find a way or mass producing the BDA for everyday cars, so go toyota.

Strangely - while not being drawn to Japanese vehicles at all - I would consider it 'wrong' to fit just about any English/Australian/American engine to a Japanese car.

It just doesn't feel right to me.

Hiffing a Japanese twincam turbo into an Escort or Cortina on the other had makes PERFECT sense (not that I have ever done it). Cheap, powerfull and really well built.

BDA engines are worth moonbeams now, YB Cosworth may be heading in the same direction I guess. Ford based Lotus motors are dropping in value a little bit.

My age has something to do with taste I guess - when we were boy racers no one could afford a Japanese car. There were about two guys in town with Datsun 240KGTs - near God like. The rest of us had to put up with Cortinas, Vivas, Escorts, Valiants etc. etc.

I have an 18 year old daughter - and NO she is NOT coming to the NATS
