RE: you're idle problem, check the AFM (air flow meter) , as alot of the EFI cars have a "start up" mode, and then once its running properly will switch to the afm (if that makes any sense), check all connections and give the AFM a good blow out with the air compressor (while its off the car)

see comment about noisy head... noisy head was actually noisy bearings. noisy bearings got noisier on test drive once we put new starter in.

reason the old starter died was, well it didnt. engine was siezed, so it wasnt turning over. we ended up tow starting it, the force from that must un-seized it. we drove it, then the knocking came, me = got pissed off, went to swing an 'O' (on my private test facility) and it seized shortly after lol
