anyone ever replaced a steering universal joint?

I have, its easy as to do.

Just drill/grind/hammer the rivets out and bolt it back together with the new rubber.

$440 seems pretty expensive to me, I'm sure I rebushed my whole van for around $200.

i ran out of steel so sentra ordered some more for me

i cant believe that you rebushed your entire car for $200, where did you get the bushes from, was that in rubber or urethane? A general kit from repco costs around $450 and that only includes the common bushes usually

i read the little instructions for the steering joint, should be ok to do

There's Group 4 ones come up regularly on tm for less than that. No rubber...

had a look at my car today, the roof has been bare metaled and 2k epoxied(was good condition except for paint), and the rear passenger quarter and passenger door has been bare metaled, theres a little rust hole up by the rear window and the front of the door got mashed up at some point so thats getting some replacements, and something happened to the gaurd that was done at the last place, apparently it was bogged straight onto bare steel which is bad and had already started to get surface rust... dont really know what was going on there but progress is being made, but at what price...

and cheers to esky73 for getting me a replacement rear bumper mount and cutting it out of the car and delivering it etc haha, what a awesome guy
