GARDRB Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 So the most important question is.... What are you gonna make the controls on the right hand side do? 2 Quote

He's gonna machine one up on the lathe that mainlines minninchee's directly from his roof tent to his face hole. 2 8 Quote

Popular Post sheepers Posted May 19, 2024 Author Popular Post Posted May 19, 2024 I found a 185 at zebra so I bought a few bits and bobs. I bought another drivers seat for 40 bux and used some of the fabric to re-cover the drivers side arm rest thing. It came out pretty good, time will tell how much comes unglued and I have to fix it up but it's pretty ace at the moment. The other thing I did with the spare seat was cut the mounts off and put some spacers in to raise the seat up a bit to make the driving position better for normal height people like me. No pix of that because I didn't take any. 16 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted May 21, 2024 Author Popular Post Posted May 21, 2024 Let's get way to carried away fixing the center console lid ay? Broken, like every one ever made the top of it is broken and cracked. So I spent way, WAY to long making an aluminium plate for the top. Then recessing it into the vinyl and foam cover so it sits flat. Once that was done I cut a piece of fabric out of the spare seat, washed it then glued it up with a piece of foam. It's come together really well and I'm really happy with the result. People who actually know how to do upholstery will cringe when they see it irl but I'm stoked with it, it'll do me just fine. 20 Quote

sheepers Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 In typical fashion for me I forgot to mention that I put a new drivers door seal on it (so awesome, made such a difference) and I noise insulated the back door to take out all the rattling which also made it heaps better. 3 Quote
sheepers Posted July 28, 2024 Author Posted July 28, 2024 did a full fluid change on it today. new oil filter, new fuel filter, new trans filter. change the oil in the transfer case as well, it looked like it was put there yesterday so that was probably a waste of time but its done now. i took the pan off the trans and cleaned it out. it was pretty excellent tbh, the truck has trans servicing stickers on it going back a few hundred thousand Ks and id believe it. nothing of note on the magnets so thats good. i didn't do the diff because im still keen on doing a full rebuild on the whole thing (still trying to get the right parts for it and some new clutch plates for the LSD) so itll get new oil when i do that. 1 Quote

sheepers Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 Put all new bushes in the rear. Trailing arms, panhard and swaybar. I think it's already been done once before, the rubber bushes came out fairly easily and they had no outer steel sleeve I had to fight with so I'm assuming not factory. Anywho they were a bit fucked and I changed them. Does feel better in the bum now. 8 1 Quote
sheepers Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 drove the truck to work today, fuck what a difference! the rear end feels so much more stable, looking at the bushes i took out i wouldn't have thought they were that bad but i guess they were. 5 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted December 28, 2024 Author Popular Post Posted December 28, 2024 I bought (almost) all the suspension replacement parts for the front end. Upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower inner bushes, new sway bar links, new rack ends and tie rods and sway bar bushes. What I didn't buy was the camber adjustment cams that cannot be removed because they rust weld themselves into the bushes and you can't get them out without destroying them. I found this out after id almost fully disassembled the left side. So lots of parts got replaced but not the inner lower bushes. I'll order the adjustment cams and finish the job. I didn't bother taking the drivers side apart, I'll get all the bits first. It fought me all the way to get this far but whatever. And a special shout out to the joker who did the lower balljoint last time and put it back together with longer bolts that bottomed in the holes so he just gave it more ugga duggas and called it good. Both bolts broke when I tried to get them undone. 10 1 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted January 11 Author Popular Post Posted January 11 Round two. Got some genuine toyota camber adjustment sleeves and took it all apart again. This time everything went fairly normally and now it's all back together. I also replaced the CV boots while I was in there. So is got new upper and lower inner bushes. New upper and lower balljoints. New rack ends and tie rods. New swaybar links and bushes New CV boots. It was quite a pile of parts but the time everything was done. 13 Quote
