governorsam Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Was talking to @holdenman at the campground, is that a cavillino? na, tread pattern is wrong. turns out it’s a cavillino commercial tread. rare in the wild. 1 Quote
RUNAMUCK Posted March 15, 2023 Author Posted March 15, 2023 I've owned retreads on Cavalino casings. People piss and moan about how terrible chynah tyres are today. Give me a ling long over a retread any day....... 2 Quote

igor Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Nothing wrong with retreads. Used to get three months out of retreaded cross plies on the front on my 1098 powered Clubman in the late 80's. Always bought new ones every third or fourth go round when they wouldn't retread my old casings anymore. Quote

RUNAMUCK Posted March 16, 2023 Author Posted March 16, 2023 Be a nice departure switching from working on Ho-Hum targa cars, and getting back into a serious performance machine like the Spacy........ 2 2 Quote

Almost be a shame to have a big grind put on it. Almost...... What does the piston look like at the impact site? Did the valve guide get splayed by the lateral forces? 1 Quote
tortron Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 GN guide looked fine till I took the seal off it and it was actually broken off at the top and held by oil tension 2 Quote
