Tool shed ones are shite, they fly apart as soon as they see metal . I got these ones, https://www.trademe.co.nz/3948985443 A+ go hard for what they cost. 1 Quote
tortron Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Yeah those ones But I have had bad batches that also immediately split at the seam  The ones that don't do that last a long time Quote
locost_bryan Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 This is the seal for the opening rear quarterlight windows. It's basically an oval tube with a piece on the bottom that goes onto the window frame. Measurements are with an old imperial feeler gauge ruler. I suspect that, since the hinge blocks are identical to ADO16 ones, the seal might share the same profile. 1 Quote
kws Posted October 29, 2023 Author Posted October 29, 2023 Thanks @locost_bryan that's exactly what I needed. That's different to the weird two-piece seals the donor car had (which in hindsight I should've grabbed for a sample) but look to be exactly what I was thinking of fitting, definitely gives me something to work off. 1 Quote
locost_bryan Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 The driver's side wiper lifts at about 100kmh. Not ideal. The UK solution was to reverse the wipe pattern. It must have been a reasonably common problem in the 70s and 80s, as there were a variety of clip-on aerodynamic aids available. I fitted a pair to mine - they helped but didn't cure it completely. 1 Quote

My first Marina had that pattern. I think I'll be doing well under 100kph if it starts to rain, just so I don't die.... the wipers lifting off will be the last of my worries 3 Quote
shrike Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 No option to fit a longer more modern Wiper blade setup on the drivers side? Quote

Not really needed, with the correct spindle the driver's side goes hard for what it is. Not that I intend to drive it in the rain much anyway 2 Quote
RUNAMUCK Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Did you put plastic under the door cards? I did t see a picture of any, and given your meticulous artention to detail in upur build thread, if you had there would have been one? Mitre10 sell "greenhouse plastic" cheap as chips. You could do all the openings for like $15. Keeping the dust and water out will surely prolong the life of your door cards? 2 Quote
