Big haul job today. Couple of new anchors for the Picton ferry

Oh and threw in some shorter front bumps, out of a Hilux. Had to recut the threads on the stud as the diameter was too big. Now has travel which is nice.

6 monthly update. About to tick over 300,000km. Just run in.  Threw new spark plugs, oil, and filter at it. Needs a wof so have thrown OG wheels back on as the tyres have tread (it's in desperate need of wheel allignment). Also picked up a chrome step bumper as I'm a sicko. Just test fitted in the photo, needs some spacers made up as the towbar which would normally sit in between the chassis rails and bumper brackets fouls on the bumper. Bumper fits up nicely though so worth making it work.

My younger self threw away a few of these bumpers. Older me brought one from rock auto paying moon beams on shipping. How things changed. Looks like a mint bumper.

It's solid enough, bit of crust starting in a few places but fits well with the rest of the truck haha. Should tie in a bit better one the shiny wheels are back on.

Oh I like that chonky chrome bumper, makes the wellside look more balanced somehow. I want to stand on it.

Yeh keeping my eyes peeled for front end chrome

So back in January (shortly after last update when I said I was going to get a wof...) I failed said wof on suspicious looking rust bubbles on A pillar and along top of windscree . So I started poking. 

Long story short I kept poking and it became apparent it wasn't a quick fix. Insert @flyingbrick to the rescue (as he's a sucker for punishment). Once the screen was out is was apparent it was a much bugger job but was the right call.

 

Fast forward a few months and it got an entire new top channel pressed up and welded in, a couple of new sections on the top roof skin, and a few other areas cut out and replaces that became apparent. And another rust hole on the B pillar.

Fats forward again to this weekend where I threw some filler and paint at it (good from far, far from good) and started piecing it back together.

 

And a good coating of 2k epoxy to keep things buried for another few decades under the windscreen 

Next up glue windscreen back in, finish the rest of the interior jigsaw, and then take it back for a wof. Only 8 months later!

Along the way the windscreen got broken, so thanks to @Raizer for spotting and sourcing another one, and @chris r for transporting in Musso luxury

You don't have much luck with windscreens.
