Popular Post Beaver Posted October 19, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted October 19, 2022 So seats have been a bit of an issue. The factory drivers one was fucked when I got it, so tracked down a pair of terrano seats a long time ago and have been rolling them. They were better but not great. Then a bench seat popped up locally (and we all know bench seats are superior) in reasonable condition and cheap cheap, so nabbed that and figured I'd need to get creative to make room for the shifter. Thankfully I was wrong! And being tall helps as I want the seat as far back as it can go for leg room anyway. It can move forward enough that the misses should still be able to reach the pedals, and back tips forward so can still get people in the back seats. Just needs a seat cover/nice blanket to top it off. Chuffed. Excuse the mess.... 18 Quote
Popular Post Beaver Posted August 8, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted August 8, 2023 Nothing update worthy but still earning it's keep as the resident workhorse. Needs a WOF soon (maybe overdue already) and is in desperate need of a wheel alignment so will get that sorted. Otherwise nothing really to report on. Oh actually, I put in a new stereo but turns out I shouldn't quit my day job as it randomly turns off and tells me to check the wiring haha. 15 Quote
Popular Post Beaver Posted October 3, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted October 3, 2023 So I put in a new head unit a few months back (how good is Bluetooth, no more silly aux cords). Anyway, it soon gave me errors (check wiring) and would turn itself off frequently. Now I'm no wiring expert but like to think I can install a car stereo good enough. Rechecked all the wiring and connections, nothing obvious and no change in performance. Gave up for a while then the other day it was as repeatable as ever and would cut out once driving and then come back on when idling. So figured it may be voltage related. Threw the multimeter on and hey presto. That ain't right. Tracked down a second hand alternator and gave the same results, at which point realised it was externally regulated (facepalm) so concluded the regulator was bust. Given the corrosion on it, it seemed reasonable assumption. Tracked down a new one, and everything now does what it should (14.5ish V at idle) and I have consistent music! 12 Quote
Beaver Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 Oh and hauled some more bikes. Didn't get any pics of all 3 loaded up 8 Quote
Popular Post Beaver Posted February 8, 2024 Author Popular Post Posted February 8, 2024 Did ~800km over Waitangi weekend with @Geophy to represent commercial corner at Wagnats. Other than some underwhelming headlights and wipers making late night driving through torrential rain and gale winds rather difficult, it went without a hitch. Nabbed best non-wag, such an esteemed honour. 13 Quote
Popular Post Beaver Posted February 10, 2024 Author Popular Post Posted February 10, 2024 What a day. Massive thanks to @Geophy for his skills. So good being able to see out the wing mirrors instead of staring at the front of the flatdeck... 20 2 Quote
