The Bronze Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 These are all the kits I wanted as a kid reading Scale Models International in the Mt Roskill library. I cleaned out under my house and found a fishbin of kits I've been hoarding including two of these - https://www.ebay.com/p/1337658165 quite happy tbh 5 Quote

a.craw4d Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Your painting and weathering looks amazing Dan. My 10yo boy recently bought his first kitset. Fairly ambitious for a first timer but he loves cool cars so I'm not going to stop him. I've only been giving guidance, he's trimmed, smoothed, painted and glued all the suspension together so far and is doing well. I bought a few paints from this place https://thcc.nz/ Paints were under $5 each and only $3 shipping, good stock and fast turn around. Highly recommended. I've also got an airbrush coming as I was never going to be happy with a brush finish on my Silvia. Just need to stop picking up new projects and get some shit done. Will try get some pics of what the boy's done in the weekend. 5 Quote
The Bronze Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Just browsed that site. Didn't realise how expensive that hobby has got. Quote
a.craw4d Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Think I paid close to $10 a pop for the last paints I bought a few years back so stoked with The Hobby Clearance Company prices. 1 Quote

yoeddynz Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Or just screw the costs - combine the drinking, drugs and modelling to see what comes of it. 3 3 Quote

The Bronze Posted October 10, 2021 Posted October 10, 2021 Thats pretty impressive. I remember I was about 10 and built a Tamiya Virago. Some mate of the family was around and pointed out I set the levers at the wrong angle. Dont let any shitc;^t do that. Looks awesome! 4 Quote

Popular Post CarolsHusband Posted November 5, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 5, 2021 I haven't got time for this bollocks, especially as the real cars are turning up thick and fast. Nah, I love it really, but how deep's the rabbit hole ? Wear and tear on the rubber track blocks, rust, dust, residual mud. Got a little bit more done this evening, tracks finished so bodywork next. 15 Quote
Popular Post CarolsHusband Posted November 6, 2021 Popular Post Posted November 6, 2021 All this fiddling around getting lost in detail got a bit much so I spent a couple of hours today mashing some of the body together. / Such a child. 11 Quote
Popular Post CarolsHusband Posted December 4, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2021 Monthly shit-post to stop it dropping off the page. I don't think I'm taking this modelling lark seriously TBH. Nearly assembled. Just got to do a bit of light weathering. I'd rather be mauling the crap out of it but have confined the wear & tear to a bent radiator stay and badly painted black-out highlights on the corners. 14 Quote
a.craw4d Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Mr 10 has gotten brave enough to try putting decals on. He only ripped 1 of the early ones but it worked out fine. 9 Quote

His skyline lust starts at the r32 so haven't fine tuned that into him yet but he's on a good track. I think the decals really finish off the r34, was kinda plain before they started going on. He's just got the doors to go now then chuck the wheels on. 3 Quote
