This just sits around. Replaced the fuel pump, brand new, perished rubbers. Done about 200km since last WOF, Reg on hold. Would sell for a fair offer. Auckland -
Weirdly I had to replace that same diaphragm twice on the Galaxie

These are 14s? I have a set of these on my ute at the moment, I just need to get my snowflakes painted, then they'll be of little use to me

Weird, I've never seen this thread in all my OS lurking. Whatever happened to old Threeonthetree? -

Awesome, exactly the info I needed, thanks. (and much better than the standard "Just get a Holley Red" response from bogans) -

This is registered and warranted. I drove it twice. I left it sitting a month or so. There were fuel supply issues I traced back to a fuel line crumbling to fuck. I replaced that with some supercheap fuel house and a generic ryco filter. Now there are other fuel supply issues. I suspect the SCA hose can't handle even the smallest vacuum, and the new fuel filter leaks. Back to problem A. And waitemata hydraulics for proper hose. I also plumbed in a primer bulb a while back - when it sits fuel disappears, so this gets it going no worries. I'm contemplating putting an Ali Express inline on a switch to prime it. Is this smart? Or just ditch the mechanical pump and go for an electric one fulltime? If so what. Answers please on the back of a stamped, self addressed envelope. -
Weirdly dig the fairing. CHiPs style

Thats what I thought, thanks, some old duffer was telling me to buy rego because covid, and then I'd avoid the dreaded shitty VTNZ pickapart
-
Can someone confirm or refute that I have to take my car to a VTNZ for a wof when I want to take it off hold? Or can any garage do the wof? Please and thanks, your friend, Mike.

I did a quick google, which didn't reveal anything, but on the offchance do you know if Alan Wright was also trained an architect? There was an architects firm in the sixties called Warwick & Wright, and Warwick went on to build superyachts, wondering if Wright did too? That'd be amazing. They designed my house.

Thats pretty impressive. I remember I was about 10 and built a Tamiya Virago. Some mate of the family was around and pointed out I set the levers at the wrong angle. Dont let any shitc;^t do that. Looks awesome!

Just browsed that site. Didn't realise how expensive that hobby has got.
-
I've been researching it for ages, but like Cletus said, until the costs come down it's a bit of a pipedream - because it is pretty much a besoke job for every car it's going to stay costly unless you can find some modularity sort of thing, then costs might come down. For example EV West in the states do a lot of VW/Porsche repowers and released a bolt in SBC engine conversion last year. But still at the spendy end, and every car is going to need a bespoke battery set up. Unless we just creative commons the designs... https://www.autoblog.com/2020/10/02/ev-west-tesla-motor-conversion-chevy-ls-sbc-mount/

Ask me about the place I spent over 2k with to get my ute up to wof standard who after taking all that then said they didn't really want to do a wof on it coz they were getting audited soon. Actually don't ask me. I'm still pissed off.

These are all the kits I wanted as a kid reading Scale Models International in the Mt Roskill library. I cleaned out under my house and found a fishbin of kits I've been hoarding including two of these - https://www.ebay.com/p/1337658165 quite happy tbh
-
I'm assuming you chose to either stow it or set it up? You can't switch it between the two? I always wondered about that kit when I was a kid

Someone may find these interesting... https://instagram.com/the_scaled_marketplace?utm_medium=copy_link
