Right slightly screwed up today.

All the input will be appreciated.

have taken the rear end off.

Main problem:

r

I can't take the diff head off, have taken off the bolts off at the ring seal, the head is actually loosened up.

There is a 24mm nut at the front which connects to the drive shaft.

Do I need to take that off?

also, How do I not wasting any time to trying to praise all the linkage out and in? is there any good order?

thank you

 sorry dude

have you got a manual for the ae86. surely haynes or even factory manuals aren't too hard to get/you might even find them online if you are lucky

but yeah as people are refering - the axles go into the splines in the diff head/carrier so you have to withdraw them (take the axles out) before you can pull the diff head out the front.

you dont want to touch the pinion nut though.

I suggest you find the manuals as above/ trawl the net and read up on how diffs go together

Ok, Here is the update:

The head is out, looks all pretty good apart from there is/was NO SEAL at the ring part. NO wonder it leaked oil!!

Questions:

Is this 1,1.5,or 2 way diff?

do you see any problems in the photos?

Should I redo the pinion seal? I don't know it leaked or not. Does it leak often from there?

here is some photos:
