cletus
did you change the bearings or get the diff checked by someone?
LingLing
no, pretty much just filled the oil and slammed all back in. Nothing I am really worried about, now it has 2L of oil in it, probably will get it checked next time when I go for a WOF.
LingLing
Small issue: Sheared a bolt that holds the rear shock in place. So I took the bolt to 3 engineering nut and bolt places they can't really find one bolt that close enough. Any suggestions? should I try toyota or see if someone is wrecking a car. 4AG_Addict
You mean the bolt on the bottom? Any fasteners supply shop should carry them, like EDL or Blacks fasteners. It's a M10, with a fine thread pitch (1.25). Can't remember the exact length, i want to say 20mm, but just match up the one you have. Edit. You'll probably find anything local will have a 17mm head instead of the 14mm head on the original bolt.
My name is Russell
Make sure you get the same strength bolt
LingLing
yeh rob, it is the one at the bottom. Yes I have got one for free from EDL. It's 17mm bolt, and everything else is exactly the same, but just too long,Factory is 15mm, this one is 20ish i think. I have to get few washers or spacers to get it fit for now. But eventually I will have to find one with the same length.
4AG_Addict
Just cut it down. Or go to Toyota, they're about $3.50 each & should be available overnight from TNZ, lengths are different left & right one is 16mm & other is 18mm, no idea why. UTERUS
Is the bracket getting caught on the bush or something? They will prob be pretty tight, try a small amount of grease on the bracket to get her all lubed up like.
Dell'orto
I had this issue with nolathane swaybar bushes, they were taller than standard so wouldnt fit easily. First side I struggled for ages trying to press the bolt upward until it bit into the thread, the other side I went and got a couple of longer bolts and had it done in about a minute

Dell'orto
Yeah, go invest in some longer bolts, will make your life that much easier.
My name is Russell
Can you put a strop on it to take of some tension? Unsure if they are anything like escorts.
LingLing
errh, pretty much tried everything tbh. What I can think off now is to take the WHOLE Lot out again, So I can bolt in the bushes when it was still out the car. or buy some long bolts.
