Alistair
If you refer to this picture http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/diag_AuACEc.png It's because you need to remove 2 Cats and 5 Mufflers.

Toucan
That's the issue with some of these classics, they just cannot compete with the efficiency of a modern engine
fuel
I recall Camel's one using similar amounts of fuel.
Ned
My last one was better... not by much, but better. Was arounf 6 or 7 km/L so 'only' 15-16L/100Km
felixx
there must be a leak or something.. Even my subaru is not that bad with a 2500 binary engine. (binary - it is either idling or at full throttle, never in the middle!)
fuel
yeah my VR-4 uses almost half of that on the open road only, and the V6 legnum VR-4 I had which I thought was terrible on fuel was still better than that too.. and at least it went fast and made cool noises. Spencer
You guys fail if you cant light this things up, just gotta be abit of a cunt to the auto and then jump on the brake will stand still smoking up no sweat.
fuel
sounds like it's down on power though, my guess is air filter is blocked or at nearly 300,000kms it could be a bit down on compression therefore losing a bit of its efficiency. Removing the 2 cats and 3 of the 5 mufflers would be beneficial though.
Spencer
Uh I could blaze up my auto 1GFE and I bet it still has more power than that, skid fail, just got to get your auto abuse on, A340's can take it
xsspeed
Would have thought working the brakes should get it going on it's own, without slamming box into D

Ned
did box in 1st, foot on brake and foot flat with no results. Let go off brake briefly and re-applied to get it to go but nothing. Even got it moving and firmly applied brake to get wheels to already be turning and shifting weight to front and nothing. I can get it to step out (esp in the wet) but won't do stationary skids. Will get it to do one though and post results. It WILL do a skid... somehow.... one day....
SHGWAG
Whatabout swing an O then fot on brake to hold it stationary?
Spencer
Yea phill the Mark 2 was lighter but similar diff ratio and box with 1/4 of the power, this thing sounds fucked but bet you $20 it can do a skid
Ned
Whatabout swing an O then fot on brake to hold it stationary? Was my next plan
10Speed
some modern cars (350z for example) the computer controls the throttle, and won't actuate the butterfly beyond a certain angle if the brake is on... pulling the brake light fuse can sometimes cure this software bug (on a 350z for example). I however have no knowledge of Toyota's...
