Snoozin
Steels will win for shore, extra toughness. I still wanna sort out widening mine too. What are they off?
Beaver
crv (before they became 5 stud). a bit pricey ($150) but I coudlnt find much in 15". add on the 400odd to get them widened, and they arent really that cheap haha (plus tyres). shoudl look boss though. Snoozin
They will totally look boss. Same as what I have. Although I'm kinda looking at 14" options since I already have tyres. Blah. I'd quite like some of those solid centered 14" Toyota ones (off GX61's and shit) that just look like larger diameter Trump steels, widen and pop a centercap on like Lotus Cortina steels had... Beaver
yeh I was going to go 14s but wanted to fill the gaurds a bit more. hopefully they dont too lame without centre/hupcaps. shall see how it goes

yoeddynz
Steels with extra girth always rule. TR6 wheels please. Oh- and that above photo looks lovely but doesn't that radiator look so small in a TR6 against all that engine!?

kyteler
I don't get it. What's not to like about staggered rims?
Beaver
just not a huge fan of how it looks.....although my only personal experience was on my cortina and i had ballon spec tyres on the back (the wider ones) whihch probably was the main reason it looked funny
kicker
I had the same dilemma deciding how much I was going to add. Measured it all up about 3 separate times then thought fuck it and dropped them off to get done, should be all good though I hope
Beaver
haha yeh its quite daunting. whats it costing you at howatts? plan on taking mine there as well
kicker
Not sure yet, the boss wasn't there to quote but the guy I talked to said somewhere around $80 to have a band welded in. He said if you can find another set of rims cheap then they can cut the back off the spare set and weld them onto the front, that way only one weld is required. The only spare set I could find was $200 so will just go for a band.
Beaver
oh yep sounds good. bands are all good, had the ones on my chevette banded, came up mint after a hour or so with the die grinder. will be keen to see if they grind the welds down etc, hopefully they do. will be keen to check yours out when they are done. did they say how long itl takew? KKtrips
What size tyre do you need you rapscallion?
Beaver
195/50/15s. going to get one to mock up once the steels are done to check the fit/look but they will keep that same rolling diamter as the 14s on there now which will be nice. Beaver
those are both 195/50 on a 8" rim, which I rekon looks sweet. possibly go down to 195/45, dunno, will see how they look on the 8.5" rim
