kpr
yeh man they pretty big cams! but can see the toda one is super aggressive compared to the 314 even tho there is only small difference in "advertised duration". rest of his setup is totally different to what i was running. so will be interesting to see what it goes like

NaN
I got home chuffed as, the car was feeling a lot more responsive and had a bridgeport chop that i really wanted. Unfortunately a member of the local community also followed me back and threatened me in the driveway of where i was storing the car, accusing me of doing doughnuts, skids and being a boy racer. He obviously wasnt happy about how loud my exhaust was. I let him know 'nicely' that there was no way that my car could do any of those things, as it was barely able to make it up the hill only 10 minutes earlier. He left in a huff, and i decided to roll the car away. This went further and a letter from the police also turned up the day before i left for the south island saying that they too will be keeping an eye on me and that if anything further cam from it i maybe getting a visit from them. Great... here's a few thoughts .. 1. That persons conduct was - threatening behavior - false complaint to the police. - trespass, - harassment. - if you know who that person is, I would recommend trespassing them from both your home and the location where you store the car. Their behavior is not normal, balanced, it's likely that person has a mental condition. 2. The police conduct was .. - a reasonable reaction given the information presented too them, BUT. - the police should not have written that letter, - the letter is a threat without the color of 'right' - if the police have something they wish to discuss with you, then they need to present themselves and discuss it. Respond to the police. in writting, I'd do it via the Police Complaints Authority (they have a postal address). - send a copy of the letter. - suggest the officer is well outside his mandated authority, and the letter is in fact suggesting that he will be engaging in a criminal stalking without any legal basis what-so-ever. - ask the police under what statue they have a right to 'keep an eye on you for the commission of a crime which did not occur, and without any proof', - suggest that the officers conduct is less than legal, and certainly inappropriate. - request that charges of making a false statement to the police be laid against the complainant. - request that as a solution to this matter the officer who wrote that letter be employed to deliver a trespass notice and warning letter to the complainant, as well as assistance be provided to process and establish a non-harassment order against the complainant. - it's actually just one letter to deal with this, but you watch how fast they back pedal. - I'd, and send a copy to the NZ herald and media at the same time. So that the letter becomes a matter of public interest and the letter to the Police Complaints Authority is included. But, .. I'm a fan of annihilation

NaN
good call, I think it will probably end there. - on the other hand, if it were me, I'm the kind of asshole that would complain and write the PCA letters. More as a f**K you, here's some trouble back you way kinda thing.

NicT
When i was confronted i kept calm, never lashed out, never swore, never admitted anything, and asked him to leave nicely. So he can never claim i was agressive towards him. However if my car was ever impounded i would loose it. Its crazy to be accused of something you know in your heart is a complete lie, but unfortunately i have the kinda car that is that is targeted for 'boy racing'

DJZ
That letter I believe is reasonbly standard, Prozac has had one from the cops before, many years ago. If you get "seen" doing something or somebody just doesn't like you all they have to do is ring 555 or ring up the local cop shop and you will probably get a letter like that in the mail.
