Sparkle Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 ^I think why that E21 works so well, is the lack of lips, spoilers, anything. Just a nice stock clean body. I think standard spec + bolt ons moulded into body would be sweet. Quote
Sparkle Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Ah well, guess I can run something oddball when I finally get another E21 (had a couple E28s, an E12, and an E30 too btw ) Was thinking this would look epic in a forest green or navy blue as per previous ideas. Different styles though I suppose! Not sure how the huge bolt ons would look as per rx3 pic on 1st page Found this pic of an non m3 with box guards; not sure really... I think this one looks better, and could look better still if the rear box guard tapered into the back more; Quote

anglia4 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 car is looking good! agree with you though, doing something on one side and getting it looking mint and then having to do it again on the other side is the shits Quote
nick_m Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I still think the flares you've done look the best off all the ones proposed To break that sharp edge you could add a 7-10mm vertical edge a la most factory cars. Would be a lot of work extra though. I say leave them Quote
kyteler Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I think a similar style to the 2002turbo but with sliiiiiiightly sharper edges to compliment the E30 as the rounded ones do on the 2002turbo. If done well it could even look like a factory sports option. Quote
Jif Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Someone please photoshop some widened bottle caps on that please. Quote

westy Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Spotted these as potential wheels. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=322903093 Thoughts? Quote
kyteler Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Too shallow, surely? Or are you not going to do further work on the flares? Quote
westy Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Reluctant to go any wider on the flares, pretty bloody big as they are. Probably reprofile them with more of a curve. I'd love lots of nice shiney dish but it's not really practical. Quote
kyteler Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Right you are, I just went back and looked at how it sits now. I do like the design of those alloys, they're 5/7-series aren't they? Regardless, they're choice and with flares at current width look like they'd be pretty damned flush anyway. Still think you need to re-profile the flare to look like a more modern version of 2002turbo flares. Quote
westy Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 They are the same width and offset as the BBS RKs on the car at the moment, just a 16 rather than 17. Full polished ally finish could be quite smart. Quote
Truenotch Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I reckon the flare/wheel combo is pretty perfect right now. It's different to the traditional style for BMW's in a good way. Not too keen on those other wheels though... The BBS's look great! Quote
My name is Russell Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Looking good, what colour finnish you going for? Man looks like you have a sweet house location! Quote
