Sparkle
as above, so can be converted for fat rwd skids in sick oldschool rydez. Not actually wanting to do anything with the information. Just interests me. Could potentially be benificial to someone else though. Obviously the F20c, does this also mean the F20b does too? Rough searching shows maybe the J series V6? But that seems to be mainly a US market motor? Tbh, probably should have posted it on a Honda forum, but thought it would interest you fullas. Spencer
K series goes the right way, found this out when researching flipping engines around and looking for a gearbox
R100
I know the J30A Vtec 3000cc V6 runs clockwise.
durty
depends which end you look at them from
fuel
yeah don't most mainstream engines run clockwise from the crankshaft end, with a few Honda engines etc running anti-clockwise from the crankshaft end?

Yowzer
Do gearboxes mind being spun backwards? S'pose it'd be the same load effects as engine braking, only a bit more full time
BobbyBreeze
Thrusts in opposite direction
Sparkle
LOTS OF NICE POSTS GUYZ! GOOD 1! YOU FUNNY! Thanks Spence and R100. Richy?
Testament
could you bolt a honda motor to a VW transaxle for rear engine stz? pretty sure they spin the wrong way too as I know people have used them in fiat 850s with a twin cam fiat motor modified to spin the opposite direction. Which rasies the point - how hard would it be to reverse the direction of rotation of a honda motor? on the twin cam models its probably possible seeing as it was done on the fiat motor a 30+ years ago. Yowzer
Custom camshafts designed to run backwards, then reverse starter motor? And probably the oil pump.. What else would there be to do?
Testament
yeah oil pump may be tricky, starter motor is doable enough, if the cams are symmetrical its only a matter of timing them up to suit.
R100
I would put the above suggestion in the too hard basket As for the VW transaxles. Its just a matter of flipping the diff in the gearbox.
fuel
Custom camshafts designed to run backwards, then reverse starter motor? And probably the oil pump.. What else would there be to do? on some engines the gudgeon pin is offset in the piston so that would make it run a specific way.

Unclejake
The gudgeon pin is off-set on all the passenger car engines I am aware of but it would just be a matter of taking the pistons off the rods and turning them 180 dgrees Cam drive tension would be your other issue but pretty much anything is do-able with enough money, time, skill and machinery
fuel
most twin cam engines have larger reliefs on the piston crown for the intake valves than the exhaust valves so rotating them may not be the best idea.
