just looking for ideas on making the leafs a bit stiffer till i get round to the irs conversion

needs to be cheap, and legit

ps, have already added an extra leaf

if anybody in chch has some leafs they want to donate ill take them but looking at other ideas too, have seen 'helper springs' on 4x4's and such

Just had my leaves reset, the guy told me two things;

Instead of adding a second leave if you remove the shims that go betweens the leaves you will increase the friction between them, therefore the added friction gave the same results as adding an extra leaf. (I presume not all leaves have them but my escorts ones did.)

OT but he also said the front bush should be rubber not nolothane as it assists with the way the leaves work in some way, cant remember exactly ... if only i hadn't purchased nolothanes all round the day before :doubt:

What about some good quality aftermarket shocks?

I guess it depends on how your leaf is constructed.

Im thinking about just clamping more leafs under mine as i only have one haha!

Springs with lots of leaves do have an internal friction but that wont help much for increasing the stiffness. More so sock absorption because the friction force only really comes into play when the leaves are rubbing against each other rather than just static.

I dont know if there is an easy and safe way to get the spring a lot stiffer and lower in your case if you have already added a leaf.

Im also on a handling mission.

Note front wheel camber in relation to the rear. I think the rear is 0.

The theory is if i can go faster round corners, i dont have to speed up again after them = save fuel.
