tortron Posted July 20, 2019 Author Posted July 20, 2019 Aaaaannnndddd we're done another relay circuit, switched on the ign and another on off switch mounted behind the battery cover. A ciggy socket this side, and I will do a double USB with volt meter one on the other side. A third one in the rear could be nice for charging stuff in a pannier, but I don't carry much electronics. A cable into a tank bag may be more likely. 4 1 Quote
tortron Posted July 21, 2019 Author Posted July 21, 2019 Looks like euro gn125's are geared to do max 80kph. I guess that's why so many posts are about them being too slow This one does an indicated 110km at 9000rpm with a full tank of gas, 2 loaded panniers and a duffle bag on the back, and me. That's pretty legit tbh. Now that I have a 12v socket and a 300kg hanging scale I'll swing it off my engine crane to get a weight and do some gtech runs. Also have an O2 sensor I may put on the exhaust to see if I can squeeze a little more from it 7 1 Quote
Popular Post tortron Posted August 2, 2019 Author Popular Post Posted August 2, 2019 Banged the scout on this morning Looks the part The nips touch the fender, which isn't too much of a problem for commuting, but I will probably raise the fender a little to avoid getting it full of mud/gravel when adventuring Also got a pair of 1.5L fuel bottles. These will work with my msr stove and give me about 110km more range for those out of the way places 9 1 Quote
tortron Posted August 4, 2019 Author Posted August 4, 2019 Wired in the relay etc for the 12v sockets. Deutsch connectors so at least my wiring won't be the ones to fail. Turns out there is an unused socket under the tank, at least 3 of the wires are for a fuel gauge that NZ models don't have. One is an ign switched 12v so easy wiring. Don't have the usb one for the other side yet, but wires are ready to go 6 1 Quote
Popular Post tortron Posted August 8, 2019 Author Popular Post Posted August 8, 2019 Adventure GN never fails to impress This friggan thing can do wheelies if you dump the clutch hard enough 4 3 3 Quote
SOHC Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 put a free flowing exhaust on it and you will get more top speed, a supertrapp is good, you can find the point where the the engine is happy by adjusting it 1 Quote
tortron Posted August 16, 2019 Author Posted August 16, 2019 Sounds like it would be noisy. Slow noisy stuff is lame. High mount stainless header from a dr200. Will check what I can do about muffler placement. Don't want to push the panniers out or burn pillion 2 1 Quote
tortron Posted August 18, 2019 Author Posted August 18, 2019 Other charger in. Not a great spot to view the volts gauge whilst riding, not worried about looking at gauges tho 1 Quote

igor Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 It's a new machine. Why would it not survive the trip? Quote
Yowzer Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Just because it's new, doesn't mean it's good 5 Quote
