Ok just trying to work out the passenger’s seat.

This is more for a note to myself as I constantly go back to check up on stuff iv worked out through OS feedback in here.

Was hoping to make the passenger’s seat fold forward to gain access to the rear seats, as the driver’s seat is solid mounted on sliders.

1st question is this legal – appears so

“A low volume vehicle that has a permanent or fixed roof structure and more than one row of seats, must incorporate a ready means of entry and exit, by the most direct path practical

2.3 (9)

( c ) one or more seats within each row of seating other than the rear most seating row, that folds or tilts forward. “

2nd question what’s required to latch the seat in place (the hard part)

HINGE

IDEA - For the hinge I was thinking of getting some tube that is the same OD of an escorts sway bar and clamping it with some escort sway bar clamps and those blue bushes you can get from super cheap.

LATCH

IDEA – still to come / suggestions? bit stuck for ideas on the latch.

Nick and I spent last night looking at it and basicly came to the conclusion that there is 0 chance i can make them flip forward with the seats i have as they can't physicaly rotate up as they are to large and just hit the roof before there is enough space to get past them no matter how far forward or low you mount them. and also cant mount them low as it means they are to close to the door. (there is only luke 30mm between the seats and 20mm @ door  )

So will just do them the same as the drivers and remove the rear seat, not like i ever have pasangers in my 4 door anyways / could convince one let alone 2 or 3 passangers to get in the car

What if you make em so they slide all the way forward? Not just normal amount forward.. ALL the way.. I.e, hit the steering wheel? This kinda stuff you need to have pics etc and communicate with your cert guy.

Would be difficult to do in that you need the slider latch to be accessable from the rear seat and sliders i have at the mo are not near long enogh. will have a look at pick a part next time im there because would deff be next best option. I really dont think anyone will go in the back, as the seats are so big in the front you have no view out the front its like a little cage.

Yes less flamable goods = good and for the record - Fire 1.0 oct 09 caught myselfs (overals) on fire  Yay fire

Anyone know of the top of there heads what size DShaft loops need to be made from. Just purchased some 40 x 3 and realized it is a retarded size to try make it from!

Just drooped of leaves to be reset, fuel pump has arrived, picked up steel, and got some mega long sliding rails from pick a part for drivers seat.
