Ogre
Ok, so whats the theory in getting rid of this? If i bust traction i dont get it in 1st, and dont get it in 2nd till im doing about 50kmph or so, bout 4000rpm or somthing. Its real weird and sucks.ive heard of these "tramp bars" or somthing. What are these, how are they fitted and do they work etc? Its not really an issue, i just wont do big skids outa intersections etc, but ya, any advice would be great. Cheers
Ogre
Oh got leaf rear btw
lowlancer
Yuh, welcome to power, and leaf springs boe. Had it bad in celeste sometimes. Either get more power to combat it, or a tramp bar. Tramp bar connects from body to axle/diff. Just stops it from bouncing about like it does under skids
Snoozin
Stiffer leaves can also combat the problem, but the downside is reduced traction.
Ogre
i guess my blocks dont help either eh?
Hemi
its called a torque rod/s ?? go from body to diff or body and hold leaves in such a way that they cant tramp
blakamin
stops the axle twisting under load and making an "S" outta the leafs (which causes bounce as they keep trying to straighten out again and getting twisted again under the power)

Raizer
Blocks wont be helping at all, anti tramp bars work well
eke_zetec_RWD
stick watts linkage in? nah that woundnt help axel tramp. so either tramp rods or tramp bars. tramp bars easy,go under your blocks and forward and will hit down on front of leaf to stop it winding up
sholdowa
stick watts linkage in? Nah. They just keep the axle centred in the car. 4 links would help, though, leaving the springs to do what they should, and not provide location as well. mikuni
The torque rod looks cool. I hate the look of those anti-tramp rods or what ever they are called. Not to mention they just bang against the floor if you drop the clutch.
Hemi
i can make you a torque rod just need somone in engineering to tell me the size / all you need is mounting points adn those rods used in stockcars ...fuck what are they called
RT
they don't bang against the floor lol.. if you get decent ones with nolthane bushes.. the mk1 capris had anti-tamp rods.. I retro fitted some to my mk2 recently and it solved all the probs. Before that I ran some traction-bars that I imported from Lakewood in the states. Work really well, bolt underneath. (ladder bars)
Ogre
i dont really feel like having to weld brackets etc into my floor and stuuuuff
mikuni
Well perhaps not the floor, but I've seen those ones that just come out forward, from the front of the diff and as it begins to flex they press up under the body of the car. Plus they hang right down aswell and look shit.
sholdowa
You can also extend the bolt on the front spring hanger and use that as an anchor point if you don't want to weld stuff onto the body. Not as good tho'
Alistair
Havent had mine modified to suit yet, but i have caltrac traction bars for the coronas leaves for madd drag launch when i get round to it. Will try find a pic of them.
