thminiman
i have no idea what studs ur talking about but: put one nut on, and then another, tighten them up against each other and turn the one that you need to to undo the stud. your question sucks needs more description/marmite
pies
ok. stud is on the downpipe flange of the exhaust housing. there are three of em. im 90% sure they have threadlock on em, which is why i was asking cos usually i would just use the 2nut method mentioned previously sorry for the vauge-ness previously, i was eating dinner
Raizer
Your more than likely going to need heat -ie:gas torch, those studs will be well and truly baked in man, iv just had the same problem with my daily i solved it with an angle grinder

eke_zetec_RWD
last resort drill the cunts, use the size drill u wud if you were goin to tap it. or over size and retap next size up. down pipe studs r cunts.
lowlancer
Cut them off then drill em out and put fresh ones in
Muzzie
Try heat first. More likely to do damage if you start drilling them out.
Hemi
heat and shock . eg put nut on end of it tehn slam with hammer they'll probably be one with the downpipe now so probably have to cut and drill out if u use a pilot drill then a bigger one should be no prob then just clean the thread out and re-tap it
nismo.capri
heat and shock Yep, this breaks the bond between the threads then I wd40 the crap out of it and do the 2 nut bizzo...... or I snap it off, then snap off an easy out in there while trying to remove it.... then take it in to an engineering shop and pay someone who knows what they are doing I've also used the 2 nut trick with vise grips on the shaft as well for extra torque. It pays to use high temp anti-seize when bolting exhaust stuff back together... espacilly on turbo engines. You'll thank yourself next time it needs to be pulled apart. Burntrubber
I had to weld a bit of pipe onto one once was on the turbine exit flange of the turbo and the thead was snaped off. I have also had to do that to a CV the nut was so tight even a rattle gun or cold chisle did'nt work.

nismo.capri
OORRR if your the man on gas and its cast iron , u can cut it out Turbo exhaust housings look like cast iron but they have a lot nickel to help heat resistance.
