  1. it depends on the size of the pipe/hose and injectors. I wouldn't think its that great an idea though. you are more likely to get heat soak into the fuel with that setup as there is not a constant flow in the fuel rail.
  2. can you measure dia/count the splines on the steering rack?
  3. which end goes to the steering wheel? it looks like the end without the splined shaft should have a bolt to camp it onto whatever shaft goes in there, have you got that bolt? is that the end that was spinning? can you get some higher quality pictures?
  4. have you done a compression test? pulled the plugs/what do they look like? what induction setup? single carb or twin webers or soemthing?
  5. annnnnyone????? annnyone? I'm kinda desperate now even if i can just get around the windscreen painted so i can get that put back in and then drive the car down to tapuo.
  6. I neeeeeeed a painter very preferably in central auckland to do a quick job on the lancia delta Ive got it back from the panelbeaters, theyve fixed the roof, the winderscreen/a pillars and the boot floor. Now I was going to get the whole car resprayed but then we found the doors are shit also. problem being is they had more jobs coming in so i had to take the car back. also my pocket book was hurting so i wanted it back too. Anyway i dont have anywhere to store it in auckland for any length of time - so what I need to do is get the areas which have been fixed sprayed just to seal them so i can put the windscreen back in and put the car back on the road for a while then come back to fix the rest of the cancer in 6 months or so. so basically sealer/primer on roof and rear and colour around the windscreen. just something to get it waterproof for the meantime type thing. Anyone know anyone who would be able to do this at a time that is sooon?
  7. handing it to a 125! haha, nah thats sweet. Looks like should be a good build being able to play lego with all those different factory parts is really good. is the a15 motor standard? of some fancy internals? is it getting twin webers or something/
  8. Testament

    painting.

the paint thread is huge. too huge in some ways. It would be good to have a simplified list of steps from which to then go and look in the paint thread for info on each step type of thing.
  9. That does sound very much like incorrect timing, check timing again and try to start while spraying some engine start down the carb.
  10. does it run if you use engine start? plugs clean and gapped to spec? Timing right - check it 3 or 4 times its easy to cock up or for it slip off if you havent secured the distributor well enough, or get it 180 deg. out - done this myself plenty of times
  11. you dont have any airflow through your engine bay???
  12. gas temp might be high, but heat transfer gas to steel is kinda cabbage and the steel is exposed to much lower temp outside so it stays cool enough to retain enough of its strength.
  13. refrigerator and washing machine/drier bodys, roofs of old ladas, whatever you can find at the dump yeah probably better to do what those other guys said.
  14. Get the mechanical injection setup, drip feed ftw
  15. The twincam has reasonable support down here, but probably better support in the UK if you know where to go. You can buy all the bits over there you just have to know which supplier to goto. If you have specific engine questions try forums.turbo124.com or http://www.guy-croft.com guy is a guru of the twin cam but he has his way of doing things and thats it to some extent. It makes sense more or less, but e.g. dont go there and ask him about slapping a turbo on the standard motor. I dont know if his prices for stuff are reasonable or not though since UK money/economy is different etc.
  16. wicked. free shit/borrows from work rules.
  17. Man Ed, ripping off my Steeeeeeeeeeez hard. Was so going to have the men Gen 1 civic until stupid owman ran up the back of it on dominion road.
  18. sweet dude, will be good to see in the flesh(steel?) and at least one lampredi fanging round the track.
  19. Yeah ok I should have known Golf/Jetta bits are interchangable yes? what about a polo or a sirrocco? VW parts bin interchangeability? Audis maybe? although I dont think that was until later on.
  20. If you mean travel in compression, and the car is bottoming out on the bumpstops then shortening the shock isnt going to do anything. If the car is bottoming out on the shock rather than the bumpstops, something is up. maybe you have removed the bumpstops? Normally you only need shorten your shocks if your springs are not captive at full droop, rather than compression.
  21. Yeah from TA you would be taking the crazy winding road down the west side of the lake waipapa-mangakino-whakamaru etc.
