  1. Have you had it cranking yet?
  2. If he changes his tune, we regularly use Ashleys Tow Taxi's. They drop the whole deck on the ground - perfect for what you need Surely pump the tyres up and it'd get winched on no problems on a normal one? https://ashleystowtaxi.co.nz/services/
  3. Small update, been doing jobs in-between house and stockcar.. I wire wheeled the floor pans and firewall - all the old sound deadening I'd long pulled off. CRC rust etched, then Hammerite over top. Bought "Soundskins" which is quite like the original butenol to be honest. Sharp knife, engineers chalk and rule helped me out. Certainly looks a bit more finished. Also bought another Boss kit, however it's designed for a UK chevette, so the indicator cancelling doesn't work with the NZ column - I have used the rubber shroud cut down to finish my one a bit more. No pics but I then draw filed the locater dowels into place on the back so the indicators flick off. Just need another horn stalk to get the horn working (don't like the wires poking through the boss kit ready to be chewed off by turning lock to lock) Discuss: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=20250

  5. I could be wrong but I think that all corresponds to the build plate. The door & door jam all the same numbers as the build plate - so at least its "numbers matching" Also I'd take the build sheet and laminate it or put it in a clearfile

  8. Good stuff mate, I had a SuperBee for a wedding car. Frothing hard! No honeymoon means I've been looking on ebay at all sorts. Main thing is you've got it. From what I can read of your vin cause I enjoy decoding the muscle cars; W - Dodge Coronet ("B" body) H - High (Price Class) 23 - 2 door hardtop G - 318 1-2BBL 8 Cylinder "LA" engine 0 - 1970 (Model Year) C - Jefferson, Michigan or could be G - St. Louis, Missouri Remaining Six Digits indicate Serial Number

  10. I was going to suggest a 430 Cedric etc? My gloria had factory ones on it, but one had a chip out of the surround, nigh on impossible to find replacements..
  11. Plasma cutter and die grinder with a good carbide burr would make short work of that..
  12. My hat is off to your dad How thick is that plate for the chassis? 2.5-3mm? Looks laborious, his neighbours must love him lol
  13. @ Clint, getting closer to some yearly progress on the car - in preparation for Cert/finishing it off. Have driveshaft loop doubler plate inside, but would like to put the carpet in and do some other interior jobs, is photo's sufficient of the mounts - without/without a rule beside them. Or am I best to leave the carpet out?
  14. Keep at it, you're getting there. I'd be trying your vicegrips on the outside of that bolt head, get them on tight nice and sideways..
  15. Will you have to weld a mesh of sorts for "grip" or make a knurling of some type? Pretty cool project Tom
  16. Ow wow, didn't think it'd been that long since the last update, apparently it has.. So this time last year, I took it to Damon @ Rocky Auto, got him to pretend he was taking it for a wof and to make me a list (before putting it through for cert) . He wired in the electric fan for me, suggested I correct torque tube angle and couple other small jobs. Took the opportunity to fit up the Front Gaz Adjustable Shocks to match the rears.. Seeing as the Rostyles were illegal about 2 months after I had had them made all those years ago, I've been on the lookout for some suitable rims for Certification. Back in lock down I found a set of 5x 13x7 ATS Classic's in Germany, with the help of ebay and Google Translate I purchased them. Ended up waiting 5 months before they arrived, having to pay a premium for shipping, but gotta pay the cost.. Had them garnet blasted, diamond cut the face & lips, and then powdercoated & masked up. To keep it legal I had to fit a set of 215/50r13 Nankangs One of the other things Damon picked up on was the filler neck didn't seal with the radiator cap (standard type) so ordered a nice billet unit from summit racing. Fitted it up this afternoon and took it for its once yearly drive around the block, first time with proper pressure in the cooling system Discuss: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=20250

  20. Why not just run a domed head cap screw, that should give the clearance you need;
  21. Hey mate, I saw something and then went on a tangent and did some research.... This will wet your wicket http://forum.britishv8.org/read.php?2,50826
  22. Deuce Chevy WWII Truck?!
  23. Nah should be ex North Island its common enough... Nankang have made that size in the past too Give me a bell tomorrow and I'll check
  24. I have that running a 247ci Falcon I'd say for race uses just replace them every season or two?
  25. @ Simpson I have run for the last 5 years and in the new car a Vision Battery, gel type The first one lasted 2 years including the sitting around in the offseason's, with a mig splatter hole through the top.. They're only about $105
