johnnyfive
Canvassing the inhabitants provided varying opinions on the road conditions. Ended up taking SH35 (through the closures) all the way to Gisborne, it was quite wet and a bit munted between The Puia springs and Ruatoria. Ihungua and the inland route may well have been passable, but there was a road closed sign, NZTA indicated SH35 was open from there onwards.
