kyteler
The fairlady name comes from the SP310 Roadster, which had several roadsters before it then was superseded by the Z, hence FairladyZ. Fairlady was only used on the domestic cars for the most part, for a few generations. Exports got the number letter scenario like all Datsuns did in the 70s. 240Z, 180B, etc.
BlownCorona
I did think it was 3rd Gen, but correctly noted, via wrong logic, I didn't know they first fairlady wasn't a z car, or that the s130 was considered a separate generation. Keen on plenum cover if you have it! (and if it's missing one)

Threeonthetree
Just pull out rear seats Puhuhuhu Had a search but no Plenum cover sadly. Same as VG30E Terranos I think, that's if you need one.
beachlander
Anything looks good with the right wheels and a hefty amount of low. Do it
BlownCorona
^this. Also I'm hoping that if an owner since you went to the effort to remove those vents, that other missing bits will have been put right. I'll know this time tomorrow night! flyingbrick
Can't believe Neal built this, such a small world haha. Please ensure that any new wheels are staggered fitment and wide as fk.
BlownCorona
Won't be able to afford new wheels for a while, unless someone wants the ones it has now. But I do want to change them. And go to 15"
japawagons
Oh man. I miss my Z31. Enjoy.
flyingbrick
Jeez that looks tidy! Those wheels fit pretty well really. What a good buy! A few inches lower with that wing and it'd be A+. I like the idea of making that wing from alloy. If you do it wrong tho it will look SHIT. You could start with an 86 spoiler and pretty easily make it work. BlownCorona
If I do diy the spiller, I'll hopefully use the aircraft skin tools at work to do a good job of it. And I'm off and on with those wheels, will probably end up as track wheels! As I'd really like some watanabi 8 spokes or similar era performance wheels

BlownCorona
It's significantly better in person, still 80s as fuck but not too bad. Some nice wood grain accessories should break up the color just nicely
RUNAMUCK
If you need any parts, or Z31 specific advise, my mate James is a full blown Z31 anorak. His is all churbro'd up to the days too. He foams hard on these cars. You'd be more than welcome tobring this badboy along to any NZdatsun meets too.
BlownCorona
Awesome! Also I think this engine would take well to a super charger. It's got boat loads of torque too, can cruise along at 50kmh in 5th and it's doing about 600 rpm, never seen that in my life. Does a touch under 1500 and 100kmh and revs out to 6500
felixx
Nice whip mate! You will be chuffed!
