crownin round
Does anyone know anything about what would be required from the original car. I understand they are e throttle so would require that no? and they run auto which is sweet but anything that could be a huge paint in the ass? Spencer
Yea modern ECu like that will be near impossible me to get sorted. Then it's direct injection so aftermarket is only really a option if you go intake injection.
crownin round
yeh planning on leaving stock and auto and will be having a pro do wiring engine and box are cheap to start with though at $150. Wonder if they are immobolised like vvti jzs are out of a 01 mark 2Â
Spencer
Chances are they will have some form of immobilisation, I'd say a pro will need a whole half cut to figure that shit out, there will be no English documentation for them surely? Spencer
Haha grotty knows whats up. Â One of these would be cool if you ditch the intake and direct injection, run some ITB's and a link.
crownin round
Yeh problem is I want to run auto so. A lot of aftermarket ecu are non existent or way more than what they will give me
AllTorque
Haha grotty knows whats up. Â One of these would be cool if you ditch the intake and direct injection, run some ITB's and a link. I'm don't know the specifics of the JZ, but a lot of direct injection motors have really high compression and funny shaped piston tops, so running intake injection may not be ideal. japawagons
I'd you could find wiring diagrams and the likes for all the systems you might have some luck. But if your paying someone @ a retail rate to figure the wiring etc out it will bankrupt you. I want to tackle one, either wiring in the factory ecu or attempting to run the direct injection off an aftermarket ecu. Too bad I sold my crown. One day. One day.

crownin round
Because $150? exactly a jzs not my first  choice seems every man and his dog has an ms6X with a jz / 2 or 3 really for good reason sure but theres always that want to try soething new but not at the expense of an eco-motor lol
4AGEMAD
Everything will most likely on a can line, youll have to add a transponder module that will read the key via exciter ring at the ignition, most of which have these built into the barrell itself from memory so your a little screwed there to start off with. Secondly if the ecu cannot 'talk' to the various other bcm's around the vehicle via can lines then fault codes are going to keep coming up etc. Best of all direct injection toymotas are utter shite, we get d4d avensis wagons come through all the time with problems, they run like crap, bog down, have no power, have to run a high octane fuel or else they detonate and the egr's always clogg up and put it into limp mode. Thats just my 5c worth on direct injection petrols, not giving you hate just letting you be aware of their niggles Moral of that story, get a 4age!
crownin round
haha nah thats what i want to know before i spent money to swap and a 4age would be far to small lol my engine bay would be utterly empty and its sin to swap to 4 cylinder from 6 lol
4AGEMAD
Haha im just playing around with the whole 4age thing. But if your ever having that, hint of an urge to get a 4age I think kpr would be the man to speak to
