Escort Engineering
I almost have all the body done just have to fix the lower rear quarter on the drivers side and in front of the wheel arch on the passangers side , I'm going to send it in for media blasting soon so I can see where there maybe more rust but I'm hoping there is no more rust. My name is Russell
That sounds extensive! Would it be worth getting motor in first? as you might chop and weld allot of stuff during that process?
Escort Engineering
Sorry forgot to add the motor is all mounted on a standard cross member I decided not to run a worldcup cross member only because I may one day want to put the cross flow back in, the motor is attached to a 2000e cortina single rail box but I'm not convinced it will handle the power , there has had to be no mods to the firewall the only mod done has been a bigger tunnel because the previous owner decicded to try beating the tunnel with a hammer and attached new pieces of steel with seam sealer "backyard engineers" but you will see how it is all going hopefully tonight. thegreatestben
Not generally a fan of escorts, but i certainly admire the workmanship, the engineering & the overall tidyness of your approaches to things. Subscribed.

Subscribed. Excellent, leave more of the cool escorts for us... Nice work on the car! What is the plan for the Zetec? Leave it standard? Sidedraughts or bike carbs? Escort Engineering
I will get into more detail soon of what the motor is going to have / be, im sorta going crazy doing the photo upload thing lol but the motor will hopefully be 200bhp on quad throttle body's and some quite agresive cams
M_C
Ooooooh that sounds like a nice motor. I am being wound up by my Escort mates to ditch my Big Bertha V6 and join them all with a 1600 crossflow. Shaneo's new one is pretty Hot, but I am thinking it is more of a size inferiority complex and may not such a good idea. Always liked the modern twin cam idea. Escort Engineering
Yeah I was going to go the pushrod direction but more the 1700cc bore out and big cam and big valves but would probably be a little unroad friendly so went with the zetec only because my two road cars have zetecs in them and I know how good they are. M_C
Shaneo's TardMe lucky dip crossflow with cam that starts at 3k is pretty streatable and plently fun after extensive road testing. Not sure what spec it is other than double valve springs and big cam but goes very well and sounds great. Not going to be near 200hp though and fuel economy isn't in its dictionary. Hahaha yeah if i was still going the crossflow direction it would be more of a formula ford engine 120hp that would be enough
yoeddynz
Shit your welding certainly did improve! Some neat tig work going on and some really tidy fabrication. Nice one. Why not start with a 5 speed type 9 or Mt75 in the beginning?
eke_zetec_RWD
I know a type 9 will handle it easy as. Iv done it behind a supercharged zetec and a turbo pinto with no issues.

The turbo charged pinto sounds cool, yeah have thought about that box and most likely will get one further down the track.
My name is Russell
Just slap one in save doing box twice http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/ford/gear-boxes/auction-557238932.htm Then you wont have to re do drive shaft clutch cable, tunnel etc.
Raizer
He wouldn't have to redo all of that, just mount and speedo cable.
