DJZ
I don't know a lot about the history but the base model "Fairlady" badged cars were typically low spec models, L20 carby in the early ones and then L20E in the later ones, this continued into the S130 range as well. I think this was to do with the Jap taxes on cars with bigger motors. This car is more like a 260Z than a 240Z, it has 260Z tail lights etc.

kyteler
All Japanese market Z cars were badged "Fairlady", regardless of spec. The S31 is, as the d1mule says, the face-lift. Much in the same way there's an C110 & C111, C210 & C211.
0R10N
yeah sorry, S31. I should know better! wonder where the fourth Streetfin disappeared off to... Holy shit. Did the old owner keep it parked IN THE SEA!?!? close enough. my old colleague owned it from 1985 (?) when it was imported, and would have liked to have kept it in better condition, but his ex-wife hated it and made him leave it outside. It was already well into the rusting stage when it was finally parked up, and then sat outside his house in Gulf Harbour for something like 3 years, no cover no nothing. DJZ
Facelift in that it's more like an RS30 than an HS30 but the only engine option for S31s was the L20? Would RS30s and S31s have been coming off the production line at the same time? Were RS30's available in Japan?

BobbyBreeze
Its a 1975 jdm fairlady z s30. S31 designation was used to specify the 1976 injected model that complied with new emissions rules in Japan. Rules.
