Archetype
Ok, time for a well-overdue update. My blog posts on KiwiMotoring are still quite a few weeks behind from where I'm at with the car currently, but here's a couple of boring pics for you. Roll cage kit purchased from Racecraft Engineering in Christchurch: The car when I finally got it back from Palmerston North Automotive: The detailed descriptions to accompany the pics can be found here: http://www.kiwimotoring.com/blog/tags/pro7-mazda-rx7 I'll have a new blog post up in a couple of days. Archetype
I'm deciding on my official race number at the moment, and it's proving to be a bit tricky. My initial thought was '55', which I've used before. I like the idea of having a bit of meaning behind my choice of race number, and 55 comes from the LeMans winning 787B: The number 55 seems to be super popular though, as I seem to see it on a car in pretty much every race class or series. Anyone got any other ideas?

kyteler
I'd like 27 personally but it's one of the most popular numbers ever, it seems. What about a combination of whatever series of 7 yours is, and 7, so 67? 77? 87? Or 35? It's like a P/Plate take on 3S.
Archetype
Why do you like 27? 44 is my girlfriends favourite number and it's freaky how often we come across is (room number at hotel a few weeks ago, parking space the other day, etc), but it's taken by another Pro7 member already. I like 77, but that's taken too. Surprisingly, I think 7 is still available. I don't mind 81, as that's the year I was born, and I remember my favourite super saloon driver at speedway was number 81 when I was a kid. My car is a '92, but that doesn't really do much for me. I guess I want something a bit unusual, in the hope that I can use the same number for a few other events that I'll be running in. No doubt there will be number clashes from time to time, but there are a few common numbers that can be avoided. I wonder if I could have 00? That would be different. Any double number combo is quite catchy, I think.
Simon
Hold on, so this is your car I've seen in at PN autos? I'm slow. lol Looks great!
kyteler
You could always try find out the number of the RX3 that destroyed the Hakosuka's 50 Victory winning streak, that would be a novel number, I think? As for 27. Day of birth and a combinations of the digits is the year of birth.

Plain old '7' is growing on me:

I had a sick printed mirror of this car, but it fell off the wall one day and smashed. So gutted.
