Correct! Front was completely cunty to begin with but after i'd figured out the right side, the left took half as long.

Part of the problem was the new struts being a bit longer than the old ones and part of the problem was using string instead of spring compressors.

Rear torsion bar was a piece of cake to clock. Took 5 mins each side. Next i have to re-bleed the brakes and i can see how it drives. Already it seems MUCH firmer tho. Might even throw my whiteline bars in today too.

  • 2 weeks later...

Posting this from my telephone. Shits cash. Thrashed piss out of the car around taupo and it ran mint with minimal issues. Need a phenolic spacer for the carb as its boiling the fuel in the float bowl but in sure that will be a common part since its escort bits. Pictures and video coming up soon as i get home.

Glad it went well for you man!

I don't think that a swaybar will solve all your issues... They quite often cause the rear wheel to be picked up further rather than pull the body down. The normal race car setup guidline is to look at the opposite corner of the car to solve your issue. So if you're picking up rear wheels at the time the front may be traveling too far, pivoting the body on the opposite diagonal axis and raising the rear wheel. It's not a bad thing to pick up the rear in FWD though, but it needs to be sorted if it's anything like your original pics.

Stiffer shocks & springs in the front will work wonders for this... As well as multiple inches of extra slam :P .

As for swaybar discussion. The front is pretty solid but will also be receiving a sway bar upgrade. One bonus of adding the rear bar is it will increase my effective spring rate a bit which i could do with.
