Am taking the panels to the painter today - hopefully he will be all finished come the weekend.. Quote

If anything it would be an Opel Senator A2 stationwagon (or what ever the German word for stationwagon is) if they even made a wagon in this shape. Even then the A2 facelift, when they went to the same shape lights as yours, is also when they went to the full colour coded and plastic bumpers, with the black inserts. So no, I don't think your car has an Opel equivalent. It's an Opel Rekord stationwagon, with Senator lights, guards and bonnet, with Commodore bumpers (and HQ running gear ). Quote
Raizer Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 If anything it would be an Opel Senator A2 stationwagon (or what ever the German word for stationwagon is) Kombi lol Quote
isnowi Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 How about a bit of cyrillic? автомобиль - универсал Quote
Raizer Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Variant and Caravan are both manufacturer specific though lol "Kombi is a German abbreviation of "Kombinationswagen" (Combination Car) which is the German name for station wagon." Quote
Unclejake Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 The Germans sure have lots of words for da wagen Mercedes used to call them Universals, Audi is Avant, blah, blah, blah I think an Opel wagen/bedroom owned by KKK should be called Mein Kampf Quote
Kezo Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 The Commodore station wagon was called Voyage. And the Commodore (as we know it in Europe) was put out of production in 1982, so I would say Mikuni is right. Quote
KKtrips Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 Makes sense - I never found a VH equivalent in pictures of Opels - so I canne fit an Opel Grille without bastardising a VC one - cos the angles would be all wrong for the bonnet and headlights.. Quote
Steelies Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 phantom grille made from gold plate twisted square with matching windscreen stays Quote
mikuni Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 The only conclusion we came to was that there was no Opel equivalent to the VH model wagon. A grill from a facelift Senator or Monza would still technically fit, if you wanted to go in this direction. Quote
KKtrips Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 Ahhh - I see Meh - I'll make one out of barbwire and mount a red neon light in the shape of the Opel logo behind it... Quote
mikuni Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Theme: concentration camp meets erotic dance? Sums up Germany nicely I think. Quote
KKtrips Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 I loik this ^^ idea - especially the erotic dancing.. BTW - fuck thats an ugly grille... nikkuh say waht? Quote
kyteler Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Just get the badge? VH Grille and it's multitude of thinly spaced horizontal lines is the best Aussie Market grille, regardless. Quote
mikuni Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Wicked, that second senator is sweet. The flattened the nose though aye, so if you were to try fit that grill looks like you'd need bonnet, then the bumper wouldn't look right and don't want to change to boring plastic ones. Just make it low and noisy and who cares about what badge/grill is on the front? Quote
CaMpylobacter Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 fwiw, all the vk shaped monza bits seem to still be available from europe. the guy from the holden dealership around the corner often comes around to borrow our microfiche reader as they turfed theirs out years ago Quote
