coldturkey
I swear it is the best thing ever for projects. Cause on a weekday everyone else is at work so you get bored and just get shit done! Weekend you are always too hungover/CBF

coldturkey
yes and no, mainly inside the sills, inside the edges of the roof, and at the bottom of the doors on the inside. Previous paintjob was a bit of a coverup unfortunately, but oh well. It is 40 years old.
coldturkey
yeah, shits getting done steelies, but im sure the likes of yourself is cringing at some of the repairs But like I said, good enough for an amateur like myself. Not afraid of a bit of bog as long as there is metal underneath
durty
Haha. I'm pretty sure Manu would approve of your repairs The repairs on his starlet are fantabulous
Hezath
Awesome mate, really enjoying seeing it get some love!!! My fuel pump was leaking out of the pivot pin hole too. I replaced it with another and cleaned out the end of the hole well before sticking some silicone neatly into it with my finger too. No leaks there yet
KKtrips
Lowrange - if its leaking out that hole it means the seal is gone.. Will need to replace the pump - if you leave it - the seal may poo itself internally and you'll end up pumping fuel back into the engine.. coldturkey
roger that, thanks for the heads up! will have to investigate further. Its hard to say if it is actually leaking round there. I will fix the other leaks and re-evaluate
Hezath
I'm gonna say it is... Leak looks exactly like mine did before I replaced it with a four cylinder L-series unit (with only two bolt holes, but it still works fine haha)
coldturkey
yeah, you're probably right. There has been oil coming from somewhere and the wind from the fan has been dispersing it all over the engine bay - free rust proofing? I'll see if the one off the spare L24 is any better. Steelies
eek, wait till you see the rush-patch i put on for the last wof. i do apologise haha.
coldturkey
hmm, do you think I should dig it out? haha Did consider stripping off the filler to have a look but then that would just mean re-doing it lol. Did you give the inside of the sill a bit of a spray with something?
Steelies
i cant remember, dadams chopped and prepped and i popped by to stick the patch in. it looked like the rust extended more rearward so only get in there if you want to do another strip of sill. i feel shit for a) doing it quickly and knowing and not saying, but i think you should have a look for yourself, seeing as you've gone to such de-rusting lengths already. feel free to slag off my workmanship. kyteler
Sweet pallet transportation device! You just bite the bullet and buy one of your own in the end?
coldturkey
Yeah, was keeping an eye on the supercheap and repco catalogues waiting for one to come on special and a couple weeks ago it happened. Was like $260, (35% off) so cant complain really, even though its not top of the line it has a 12 month warranty. And the only thing that can really go wrong with it (that I cant fix) is the ram anyway which you can get replacements for. Will just sell it for a minor loss when I am done with it
