Hmm dammit it for still loving old school holdens in a big way. Meh... What day were you cruising threw the Waikato again? Could cruise to the hop with ya, if its the right time of course. Edit: Also only just realised your beast was left hand drive. How you get away with that?
KKtrips
going to Taupo on Wednesday then continue to Waihi via Baypark bro - No Waikato stz. unless there is a better way through Waikato you can suggest? Oh yeah LHD is the way to go - just doing things the right way/knowing people
Snoozin
Bro if you slam a B16A in that thing, I will be your friend forever. Honest.
KKtrips
How much for a half decent B16A and box?
Snoozin
There was one a month or so back on NZHondas for $1200 incl. loom, ECU, box etc.
KKtrips
Is it true that all 2nd Hand Vtax Hondas are fucked? I have fited 2 into a mates car and both of them including the original one we pulled out were smoky pigs (smokier than Fuel's Eterna at idle)
Snoozin
They seem to develop ring issues, otherwise they're strong as fuck. Generally a new set of rings, and some valve stem seals sorts out any smoking. Just make sure it's been given decent oil changes cos IIRC they like to wear the cams as well. Insani-T
going to Taupo on Wednesday then continue to Waihi via Baypark bro - No Waikato stz. unless there is a better way through Waikato you can suggest? Oh yeah LHD is the way to go - just doing things the right way/knowing people Cruising threw Matamata on Te Aroha and then head over to Waihi is nice and flat. But you do have to deal with Karangahapi Gorge. But that aint fuck all. Heaps better then going back way threw TGA. So want LHD in bucket, but didnt think it was able to be certified. I know you can get old American muscle on road LHD sweet, but for a newly built car?
KKtrips
trust me - my car is totally illegal - but I did the job right and the person who checks my WOF is a GC - dunno how I will go with certifcation with a Honda engun though...
Insani-T
Damn, so wanted you to say that you can do it if done right This Honda idea does sound pretty sweet though.
KKtrips
How GC is your WOF man?
Insani-T
Not that much of a GC, guy who will be over seeing my build is totally by the book. Has to be totally legal for him to give me a cert plate.
Unclejake
My vote = BMC A series motor and box. There must be heaps of hotrodded bits still around
