Mr dori
hey those wheels are SSR mark 1, they are pretty cool, are you sure yours are the same? maybe yours a chevoits or something? this is your inspiration...
solidstripe
SSR's?! Aweomse! Tell you the truth, didn't have a clue what they were, all I knew was they looked dang awesome and had to have em. Pick em up tomorrow hopefully. And yeah, that's my insperation - the chevy v8 it's got it in it
Guest
That's my inspiration too! Well as far as stance goes anyway. Minus air bags, don't need 'em! Small tyres rule on that thing. And I really hopes your wheels are Mk.Is, would rule so much. But if they were cheap, don't count on it, but they sound nice either way. And it's tuesday, got wheels yet? Pics! macabre
jesus those wheels are wide, good stuff
mikuni
Those are cool man. I reckon sand/bead blast back to steel and them powder coat light silver, after welding the holes up. I was looking at buying some that would have a similar look. They are ag wheels off those little suzuki trucks, which just happen to be 4x100 lol. Its going to look real nice on them. Hope the offsets suitable at the back
Snoozin
This thing = looking so hot right now. Rims are going to look fantastic on it when done, considered a blast and an HPC coat on them?
solidstripe
I was wondering what the best way of cleaning them back to bare metal would be. Beadblast, sand blast or drop them in the tank like batman droped in joker? Would blasting them leave dimples or imperfections of any kind? And what about powercoating them gunmetalic?
Snoozin
If you blasted them with a gentler media like glass or plastic bead, or walnut shell it should leave the surface in decent condition, I would say the only issue may be any rust pitting in them. I reckon they need to be completely shiny/light coloured, it'l emphasise the dish heaps better and look tough as fuck to boot. Doing them gunmetal will just lose them I reckon. Guest
Agrees, Just highly polished. Don't paint grey, would kill them almost. HPC coat sounds good ideas. And shit they're gonna stick out far. Mean. As far as legalities, etc goes you may have to get flares? I dunno eh. But it seems finally you've found a set of wheels I can agree on! Like way better than others and stuff. solidstripe
I was originally thinking just straight croming them but some said that that would could cost around $500 / wheel!! Didn't think it was that steep. What about anodising them? Or electro galving them?!
Raizer
Give this guy a email, jon@customchrome.co.nz im pretty damn sure it will be less than $500 a wheel when big truck wheels cost no more than $350 to get done

snake
Mean wheels dude. Chroming would be the way I'd go with them and then fill the holes with bolts similar to actual ssr mkI's
028
maybe these ones should fit your cedy without have to flare?still deep dish http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 313407.htm
solidstripe
I'm sold on these wheels now a, they are the 4th set I've had for them and am now resolute to make the car fit around the wheel than the other way round.
