  1. So happened across this 101k nana spec daily candidate, other project requires more studs for more cyclinders so this is getting the crossover stuff, ie mags 4 stud brakes etc poss v6 shit one day. test fitted wheels and lipped the guards yesterday still minor scrape happening so more work required. standard g161 and 3 speed auto (bigger tunnel was a pre requisite of purchase) posting.php?mode=post&f=18 discuss or something
  2. what a waste of a good holden/buick motor hell if you have the crossmember done you are halfway there. it'd be a unique combo which would probably resell easy to the flatpeak/drift kids. i seem to remember the 6g72 required a hell of a gearbox to keep up with it, just going off what phil has underway oh and ere's a buick/holden v6 mitsi combo by the kids in hams eyfCZFZHghQ
  3. unfortunate car buying accident...plus that and the hogs are clogging my sheds up, i have 4 bikes and 3 vehicles in two double garages its just too tight to get in and do work. not too mention pushbikes and such. so i need to sell this lot and the vn before i have my pad looking like an urban horopito.
  4. had one let go in gemini thankfully hadn't bonnet mounted the gauge like an ozzy, biggest pain in the arse ever buy an electronic one. ie if you do it carry kneadit to blockit if it snaps off, brakes line etc
  5. olds diesel versus chev petrol same?
  6. its bbq season just roll to peoples houses burn meats have quiet brew/shandy's and so forth. I can't stand being in a rowdy pub like cock and balls, i'd rather sit on my arse on someones lawn. dinsdale tavern is where its at tbh parking out back out of sight of the public and in sight of the owners, none the less whatever they always fall on my days on at work anyway
  7. v8 commodore or falcon strut inserts/springs would have to be investigated surely, commodore runs a mac strut also, flipping the sump with a longer pickup will be fine just make sure you get good oil pressure after its all tig'd together before you start it.
  8. well reasonable success boogied in this carb that was spare off the wr200, cranked the idle jet screw in half a turn and lifted the clip on the needle a slot, currently it doesn't idle too well a little low so i'll have to lift the clip one more slot and wind the idle jet open a tad more. the idle is too low as i was getting a rich bog at half throttle due to the needle needing to go down a bit more. overall pretty happy its pulling 50mph on the speedo at 2/3's throttle in top gear
  9. will try one of my spare flatslides i have first, then will look at purchasing if that doesn't work. just seem to get a bit lean and starvie after a good 80km/h run, being more upright probably doesn't help but can change back to low slung if i want.
  10. so got bored/inspired to change things up,insert home built riser bars suicide (panhard) shift, and soon a sprung shovel single seat and rangi white walls/flappers, split beer crate panniers. been bowling round on this and its pretty fun to ride with the hangers and panhard shift, lights working well but have to jet the carb a little as it seems to be wanting a little more juice at the top of the throttle
  11. just win that job and buy the 18x9m shed for sale out puketaha with your new found wealth
  12. yeah have heard vh45 was a bolt in proposition, wouldn't do more than 36/7's as you have to cut way too much out of the guards. mates swb is on 37's and its plenty capable , bennetts safa who's his mate is friggin cyco with 37x16's on bead locks
  13. similarly enough carlos should have my manifold finished end of the month, i plan on running a 3.8 buick with a 3/53 blower, max revs on the engine is 5500 at 232 cubes, blower would seem to be good for 159 cubes but will over drive it to pick up the slack, I'm aiming for 8-9 psi running twin throttle bodies injection and a remapped ecu or squirt. Although the blowers a little smaller its fully rebuilt and should spin hard enough without losing its efficiency due to the lower rev limit of the engine. Still taking into consideration 5500 is probably double what the old diesel would do.
  14. opinions rb30 powered lwb patrol? i figure good starting point for conversion to v8, lwb not ideal for 4bying but still plenty capable
  15. i'm going up on the 31st with a trailer then back to hamilton on the 4 or 5 of feb if you have no luck
  16. best ring a certifyer allan, plenty of cars running around with tube frame fronts on dragstrips, not sure but isn't reece fish's chev tube frame front, not too mention all the utes running around with c notches
  17. they're electronically controlled shift points etc aren't they, diddy will know, camels manual jz one was quite choice tbh
  18. yeah man they used to use asbestos ^ but now ceramic wool, or a lot of foam products are used now especially for stem pipes etc
  19. bucket of dirt with worms in it in the boot, your car is a farm
  20. looks sweet joe , bugger the walnuts get it on a spit and get the blasters to do inside and underneath withsome nice abrasive sand , then shoot a passing r32 driver cut the body off his car and weld yours on. looks more tits than al's
  21. I run a "Paradox" system, has smoke detectors for house, two wireless units for in sheds and can alarm by zone, Smartway Security in Ngaruawahia set it up for me. Our one cost $1800 and then $30 a month for monitoring, ie they call a list of numbers when that shit goes off and then finally a security company if no one answers. They can tee in camera's and shit as they have done at the missus's bach, caught some naggers having a beer on there deck last year and id'd them for breaking into the neighbours bach. Runs looped harddrive i believe so it backs over itself after 30 days or some shit.
  22. if you get a 3l-t or 1kz heaps as the old mans old one managed a 3 tonne digger happily, geared quite low so not the fastest but quite capable of holding 90k most places
  23. not too sure on that but all the flatslides i have mikuni's and tm's are venturi activated, ie there is no pump as such the slide opening and needle lifting away from the jet allows the fuel to be sucked into the intake charge. If one of your plugs were wet but not all check that the fuel stop plunger that clips too the floats hasn't slipped off the float bracket as that will make it flood that cyclinder
