  3. Im still building this. After i first purchased my Terrano i have started a business on the side wrecking D21 Terranos and Navaras. I now have at least 10 Terranos in my yard at one given time. Anyone know the fuel economy of a VG30E engine ? Have decided to ditch the diesel and go for some V6 power. So iether a VG30E or a V6 3800 commy engine. Or.. maybe a VG30DE but not sure how they fit in the engine bay. Not interested in turbos. Just want some good towing grunt and V8 is not an option either. D21 ngine bays are just too short for the effort.
  4. Ideally just after a complete car to sit rotting in my yard to use parts off for my cosmo. I plan on keeping my cosmo for ever and ever (owned it 17 years now). Before i know it parts will be impossible to find. Will try track down Roteck

  10. Im not to clued up on the different VG30 engines. I have a VG30 in my terrano and it has a distributor. Its an old 1991 shitter though
  11. The supercharger will have to offset to one side (RHS) due to the distributor location. Unless you mount it up higher to clear the distributor. Then it will be thoroughly through your bonnet. What computer where you thinking of using ? Factory VG30DE loom and ECU or aftermarket ? My understanding is the VG30 has an engine loom that's integrated into the rest of the under bonnet/dash wiring and is not easily separable like the 1JZ and 1UZ Toyota engine looms.

    Should be a lucas. Replace the brushes and regulator under the cap. Parts are cheap.
  13. Somehow i missed seeing this thread. Well done on your effort so far. Good choice of bike to start off with. Not many good looking bobbers around in NZ. Most look like choppers.
  14. With an amp meter as suggested above. Unplug or disconnect any of the non factory accessories such as stereo, amp etc. Next unplug your alternator and disconnect the main battery feed from the back as you could have a blown rectifier. This is a big cause of battery drains. Check there are no interior lights staying on such as boot lights or dash door warning lights. Unplug your wiper motor and any aftermarket relays.
  15. Seriuosly just take the hub to pick a part with a box of tools and see what you can find that matches up close enough.
  16. This thread is of relevant interest to me and my gemini build as i now have 2 cylinders where my heater box once lived.
  17. Fit a starting relay. This will stop power backfeeding into the solenoid.
  18. Have decided to give up on this idea. To much work than i had originally planned. Not giving up entirely tho. Im still going ahead with adapting the 6A10 to the L200 5 speed. But would rather fit it to the 90's shape lancer it originally came from running North South.

  22. I think the only way to do it is mount the starter the other way around like a rotary. No room in the V. No where else to put it. Steering rack would only work if it was mounted on the other side of the xmemner. This would mean replacing the front hubs with something suitable. Just opening up a big can of worms. Would rather put the effort into something else. I shall not give up just yet.
