  1. That'll slow her down for a while. If she's anything like my lot she'll be straight back into it as soon as the plaster comes off.
  2. Please post a photo essay for those of us who can't be there.
  3. Not sure I'd like to rev a 4.1 to 7000. Must sound like it's going to explode. How's that grouted block thing work wrt cooling?
  4. Was a V8 LTD ute getting around Whangarei back in the early '90s. Interior was out of a Fairmont Ghia I think. The builder and the next owner both belonged to the same club as me. Wonder if it's the same one?
  5. This is relevant to my interests also. Is it possible to remove your tank and invert it for easier cleaning? I can't remove the tank on my sixty year old tractor without removal of the cab and the steering wheel as the column goes through the tank and a cab cross-member goes over the tank.
  6. Make sure the gap is correct on the new spark plugs too.
  7. Did you check also the gap of the spark plugs? You might find that they are way over gapped from use. My coon was running like a bag of arse recently and correcting the spark plug gaps from 1.7+mm down to the specified 1mm fixed it.
  8. I sent your quote to my son and he came back with the following that he said almost slipped out in the office the other day, If you're looking for sympathy you'll find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis.
  9. I'm sure many of us have bought similarly shagged cars with new wofs only to have a huge list of stuff to fix for the next one.
  10. Have a read of this for inspiration / a look at what someone else is doing. http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/175837/building-fast-16v-allegro
  11. Might be the go in my full grandpa spec Wolseley though don't you think? Full on stealth mode.
  12. On my XC the dashlight dimmer went from a pale glow to nothing at all.
  13. When I bought my '51 Vanguard it ran 10 psi oil pressure on start up and the gauge dropped to zero when it got warm. Still ran sweet though.
  14. Wanted to like your post with the new pup but I've run out of likes for the day.
  15. Can only trace the line back around 800 years with the odd gap but educated guessing says Norman invader stock (think 1066) therefore Viking.
  16. I'm Ngati Whitehonky myself but I've got some very dark cousins. Does that count?
  17. Ah, that explains everything. Gis a couple of blank ones eh? I'll fill in the details when I decide what car to put them on.
  18. I can't afford zip ties but I've got plenty of hay bale string. Will that do?
  19. Obviously you've balanced the wheels. Some of the symptoms sound a bit like my wife's Laser when it dropped a couple of balance weights. Of course she didn't notice just like she didn't notice when the back shocks were fucked. That doesn't explain the gear stick shake though.
