  1. Na, it's not a cross flow motor so the exhaust is right under the inlet manifold. I want to put 2 injectors in each carb now. They can be a bit smaller and make a better mist. Photos to follow when I get some time.
  2. Lol, those injectors are massive! I spent a few years working on a pair of turbo wartsila Vasa 18V46GD modified to run dual fuel. They were diesel up to 11MW then 365Bar gas up to 16MW. The injectors used to sieze into the head and took a 200T press to push them out.
  3. I chucked the fuelmiser brand inline facet type pump in my 260c. Works good. Forgot the price was cheap I think. I wired it to the ignition so I can turn the key on and prime the carb as its dry after 2-3 weeks of not running
  4. Haha, no I'm talking about the pinnacle of straight 6 engines here. The mighty Nissan L28! I don't want an efi manifold as its going into a 70's car and the twin carb manifold and air box looks original.
  5. Sorry I should have included more details but it was late. I have 2x su carbs that I want to take the Pistons out of and fit injectors. Tonight I'll put some photos on. It's on a l28. See this page for what I want to copy http://www.pattonmachine.com/TBI-Adapters.htm I want to run 2 injectors per carb.
  6. Try Marcus at Hamilton windscreens. He's a gc and went out of his way to sort my 260c screen.
  7. Anybody know of a good injector that I can mount 90 degrees to the air flow? I saw some once that had this plastic deflector looking thing on the end to make the spray go sideways. Also, what cc do I need to run a 2.8 with 4 injectors. I was thinking around 450cc mitsi ones. Future plans include around 5-7 psi also...
  8. It's time again. Been a long month. Metservice says weather will be mint if your a river creature. Also means the 50 won't be checking wof's in the rain. See you there!
  9. Long time no post. Just got back from Hamilton via rotorua. Still going strong. Have picked up some kind of vibration. Hoping it's a wheel bearing. Also, next stop.... Zu tutu tutu tutu! !!!!!!
  10. Put it between the throttle and blower. The liquid going through the lobes helps cool them, and also takes up a bit of the clearance between the lobes and the housing resulting in more flow and less heat. A backfire plate is a good idea, any backfire will only be short lived as you won't be injecting a huge amount of methanol. Plus I take it you will have the injector stop as soon as you shut the throttle, so when it goes bang and you shit, you will also shut the throttle and it's all good.
  11. Can do. Sent you a message
  12. Anybody actually keen for this week? Weather looks to be shithouse.
  13. Square drill bit https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ALiqAXiTQBg
  14. Give me the 3.9 and you won't have the problem
  15. Been a year... Saved some money so going to do some earth works and concrete over the next few months. Done a bit of cleaning up. Been at it for hours. Yes, that is a sneaky tyre. Just jumped on there by itself.
  16. You haven't mentioned the water pump? If you have good air flow it may be lack of water flow. The replacement radiator might have been an attempt to cure the problem that could be just low water flow?
  17. Next one Wednesday 26th October. Couldn't make it last week as Mrs popped out another child. Aka drain on my future car funds... Should be able to get a car legal over the long weekend and see you all there. No more cruising under the cover of darkness
  18. When you pull the diff, have a fuck about with the springs. Try change side to side, see if they hang on the piss. Might be able to correct it a bit.
  19. Nice work on the gearboxes. You will have no problem drilling that hardened shaft. I ground a little notch in the surface then drilled that for easier starting when I did a similar thing.
  20. Sounds like the piston is pushing out against the pad, but the seal is grabbing on the piston. If you have all the air out, go for a ride and hold a finger on the brake lever to get some heat in it. Give it a few pumps once it's hot and you should be right.
  21. Yea check with a gas fitter who knows about caravans and stuff. I had a 30 seater bus in Europe for a few years which had a 30kg bottle in he back. I ran hose to the front and used an airline style quick connect fitting that was made for gas. Also had an outlet on the outside so I could sit the cooker outside when the air temp was 35 degrees plus.
  22. Marcus @ Hamilton windscreens can make you a new screen. I forget the price, but it was somewhere around 1200 for them to make a mould from your existing screen and make you a new one, then they keep the mould but future screens are around 250-280. Might be worth doing if you can find some others who want a screen to spread the initial cost

    Turbo sizing?

What mjrstar said. A second hand gt3540(also called gt3582r) from a coon will be sweet for a cheap starting point. Engines are nearly the same size so performance will be similar. I had one on my RFB 30det skyline and it was making over 20psi by 3000. How much power do you want to make?
  24. First hand experience with those power assisted columns. They are great.Mate has one in race car. Can dial the knob to adjust the amount of assist. Or a bit of electrickery and a small circuit connected to the speedo and it adjusts as you speed up.
  25. so its still registered? you should be sweet then. just de-register it there and then get a border inspection here, then vin and cert together
