    iirc the Falcon axle had different length halfshafts, so one trick for narrowing them was to replace the long side with a short side.

    Borg Warner 35 auto for sure (standard 3 speed fitted to just about everything Aussie and Pommie from Marina 1300 to Rovers, Valiants and Falcons). Diffs were numbered by the crownwheel diameter, Cortina 6 had a 7.5" (Model 75), and Falcon/Valiant had 7.8" hence 0578.

    I'd like to be able to play music off my phone through the free OS radio cassette I got from Tumeke, but I don't want a full handsfree kit since I ignore the phone when driving.     Probably just some dodgy Lucas bit that's given up the ghost. I think the Chinese aftermarket parts are faithful reproductions made to the original standards...

    That looks really nice. The PI seems to have a bit of bad reputation, but I'm sure there are enough Barries around to get it sorted. Always wondered how easy it would be to convert from mechanical injection to electronic these days.

    I think I've got a couple of engine mounts in my Marina part's boxes. Which engine has he got?

    Soft mount will allow the whole power unit to move, so it could be the cause. Marina's are prone to doing the same thing.

    More room in a 1300 subframe than a Mini, so shouldn't be too hard. Check with a certifier what's needed?

    Did I detect a little frustration in the brake drum department? Those springs are a pita on all BL cars; worse on my Mini with front drugs too.
