Poo
cheers, after googling the shit out of 'down sides of heat wrapping exhaust manifolds'. it looks like i am not going to wrap the manifold. i would be rather fucked of if the manifold cracked due to the pipes getting to hot and metal crystalizing and going brittle.

rb drifter
hey mate out of interest would you still have the old loom complete with airflow etc? if so wana sell it?
Poo
Yeah, I've still got the old airbox/airflow meter. The old loom is still in the car. The car should be getting some work done on it in the next coming weeks. One decision we need to make is weather to use the old loom and splice into it or full rewire. If the old loom isn't needed I'll get in touch.

OSM Garage
What did HPC fang ya to get them items coated?
Poo
the manager at HPC is a good friend of mine. I havent got the bill yet. the price list is herehttp://www.hpcoatings.co.nz/PriceList/tabid/32273/Default.aspx The quality of the coating is top notch. and i dont think my clutch and brake master cylinders would withstand the heat from the new exhaust and turbo, without the coating. looking forward to firing the motor up! EURON8
That drink bottle came out sweet. convienent drain too! havent decided why yet but this is right up there with my favourite projects on OS. Poo
I swung past TTT on the way home from work and put the reduction starter on. And it burped into life for a couple of seconds! Obviously the config in the ECU needs changing, as it won't idle or rev. Dion from West Tech is going to help us on Saturday. Then road tune! Soooooooo good to hear it run again (all be it for a short time). Its reasonably quiet, which is good. I can't wait for Saturday.
DJZ
Just an observation but wouldn't there be a chance of the pickup getting pulses from the cam pulley itself? It's a bit hard to tell in the pic how close they are together. Can you configure the Link to work okay with the speed the cam pulley is turning? For dyno tuning I had good results from Soichi at ST Hitec and mixed results from Auckland Performance Tuning in Papakura.
Poo
Yeah the link trigger wheel is close. But there is a small gap in between. And we can't use the cam pulley as a trigger for the link. It has to be a 24 tooth wheel with one tooth removed. Thanks for the suggestions on dyno tuners. I will check them out. Cheers ears.
fuel
haha no way you lucky bastard! are you going to use the whole subframe/5 lug setup?
Poo
yeah, i havent thought that far ahead. so, maybe convert the front to 5stud. or change the diff to 4stud. I'll price it up and probably go with the cheaper option (4 at the front and 5 at the back.....hah haha haha) cos my budget is well and truely blown out of the water. whoops. fuel
yeah those axles are 6 bolt and as far as I know you can't use the 6 bolt 5 stud axle shaft in the 4 bolt 4 stud carrier some info here - http://starion.mrbdesign.com.au/driveline.html
Poo
Cheers for the link Phil. I'd been on that site ages ago. But forgot about it. It looks like I will run mis-matched rims for a while. Well, that's when I get my grubby little hands on it. And now for some sad news........ With the purchase of the diff, I now don't have enough money or brownie points to go to the Nats. So have a drink for me, you crazy kids.
fuel
bugger! what did the diff/subframe setup end up costing you? I imagine much of that cost would be the cost of shipping with that weight!

Yes it is expencive. but it was my birthday (yesterday) present to myself.
