VR-4 head will bolt on to the block but would need a change in pistons, manifolds, front timing components (crank sprocket, balance shaft sprockets, oil pump, water pump, tensioner/idlers, covers) and even a crank shaft change as his will certainly be the earlier 'short snout' crank to suit the thin SOHC timing belt. Later SOHC engines share the same crank as the DOHC engines.

yesterday i read the whole thread, good to see it still being looked after all these years

Yes, its been a while.

In the 8 years its taken me to update the thread, the car gets used. But its always lacked power at the top of the rev range. Almost like the cam is a tooth or two out. or restricted somewhere. Usable torque and power down low, but runs out of puff up top. So that prompted me to get adjustable cam wheel and try and sort the issue.

Since putting the new cam wheel on its running way better than ever. Gav at HPR in Hamilton did an amazing job on the tune. Tim at TTT also did a great work fabricating a new pickup bracket for the crank angle sensor. When I get a chance I will take some more pics and update the thread.

Was good to catchup with Fuel/Phil, recently. I've been borrowing his front hubs for 15 years. I managed to get some 5 stud hubs off a Chrysler Conquest out of the States. So gave those to Fuel.

Just need to sort new AC lines and I'll be happy.  I might look at re upholstering the seats at some point too.

I'm keen to see the crank sensor bracket for when I eventually get rid of my cam angle sensor on the back of my head

Yep, I'll take a photo when I'm back home this weekend. It mounts off the block and AC bracket/mount.

Dig this, reminds me of the golden era of OS. Ended up reading through fuel's project thread... wonder what came of that? Also recalled when I bought a rooted red-brown Sapporo for $200 or something in 2008.
