SOHC
I have a clutch release leaver that runs on needle bearings witch is rooted on both bearing surfaces, its from a motorcycle and isn't obtainable anymore. What is a suitable gas welding rod I could use to build it up with?
Testament
I think machining a new shaft, cutting that one off and welding the new shaft to the arm would be a better and easier option.

flyingbrick
Yeah make a new shaft. You could piss with that for hours and still have something that looks shit. If you DO insist on welding it up- grind down a mm so that your finished surface doesn't have hard spots where the weld and parent metal meet.

Brock-Lee
building that up to size again with metal spraying is rediculous. You cant reliably add that much material back with metal spraying, it will be a super expensive piece of shit once youre done. +1 to machining a new shaft

Mickey
Machine part welding would definitely be the place to go if you want something like that repaired whether that means welding and machining or just remaking the shaft altogether. They'd be able to advise you on the best option in regards to cost and longevity.
