RevDWC
Quick question for Ladaspeed. Did you have to cut a notch for the 2nd swaybar? I've got one tucked away to add, and rear bars seem cheap enough ex russia, just looking for a few clues from those who done stuff before. Thanks. ThePog
I might have needed to trim a bit right beside the bushes, yes. I think I sprayed it with underseal after to hide it from the wof man. Never had any wof issues with that.
igor
Ladaspeed/Pog if that olive drab twin cam wagon went on to get Soviet military police graphics for the Undie 500 then I very nearly bid on it myself when they sold it after the event. Probably should have.
EURON8
"Order new guards" Let's yarn. If I can't find the parts I need locally(nationally) then I'll be ordering from mother Russia. We can easily combine shopping.
NickJ
yeah for sure, will look at Ladapower as they have said they will ship plus I tested their 'economy' surface mail and it was mint. Last time I looked it was about 40usd per panel and 130usd freightHopefully I can free up the funds soonish cos I hate driving a dented up car!
ajg193
While not quite a 2105, or new guards, something like this might cheer you up: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Child-classic-special-toys-miniature-metal-auto-model-1-32-mini-gaz-vaz-lada-samara-police/1358989359.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.273.P6WQZU&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_2,searchweb201644_3_10001_10002_10005_301_10006_10003_10004_62,searchweb201560_1,searchweb1451318400_6148,searchweb1451318411_6451&btsid=effe119f-79aa-4403-b575-4b149127a7c9I think it even has working lights. Â Would make an awesome hood ornament.
NickJ
hmm, that would fit in the 3d scanner to then scale and clone new guards
ajg193
They would come out too accurately to fit your devilish fantastic piece of rubbish great 80's Russian engineering.
azzurro
plus the end fitment of the panel based on scaling up a scaled down toy version of your actual car, may be as good or better than cheap repro parts for your cheap* repro** car that have come via international postage?  *for bourgeois westerners **of a 124 sedan
azzurro
beaten to it!
RevDWC
Spotted this on eBay, may be relevant or interesting. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121990641229
NickJ
haha, nice find, if that was closer and cheaper to NZ it would be nice to go FI on the 2105, one of them almost looks like a fiat manifold too but the bolt pattern is wrong.
Borgweiser
Had one same year same colour recently, 22 thousand original miles and amazing. Loved it apart from the shocking steering. Â Just a FYI on the fuel pumps, I've fitted Lada type fuel pumps to Peugeot 504's which are two litre and never had an issue with starvation even during mad dorts. Check out the leaks but then check the hose at the tank end and the pickup in the tank, I've had to rod them before to get the crud out. Pause. NickJ
Its been so long I can't recall if I got to the bottom of the fuel issues, won't take long to once its driving to check though! Â From memory I didn't replace the valves in the fuel pump when rebuilding it which serves me right, but i'll have a nosey in the tank & lines just to cross it off the list. As the Niva runs a standard Fiat pump and the twins have never shown signs of leaning out (opposite to the writings of the internet), I wouldn't be surprised if there was a seperate issue. Â Stack of bits coming from Russia, hopefully wof status once they are here
azzurro
fine work comrade. If you cant fix it with a hammer you have a ideological problem that can only be resolved by a long stint of hard labour. Or Vodka.
NickJ
There is always the threat of extended time in the gulag for failure to perform, but I'm beginning to think hard labour to a Lada is like holiday from actual meaningful work.
